Hi, I'm Jane
I'm a Mormon and I'm a cancer survivor.
About Me
I am a wife, a Mom and a grandma. I taught Health and Physical Education for a couple of years then raised a family and returned to teaching. Currently, I work with resource students at an elementary school.
Why I am a Mormon
I am a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Here is my story: I attended a College Women In Sports Conference at BYU in 1974. I was a delegate representing my college in New Jersey. On our last night, our hostesses took us to Temple Square for a tour. I signed the visitors book, bought a Book of Mormon and began reading it on the plane ride back to NJ. I wrote down questions I had as I read. Once home from college for summer vacation, two missionaries knocked on my door and asked if I had any questions from my visit to Temple Square. I invited them in, got my Book of Mormon and handed them 3 notebook pages of questions. I think they were excited by the look on their faces! They answered a few of them and set up a return appointment. I was impressed with the Plan of Salvation or The Plan of Happiness and the church's focus on families and how I could be with my family forever. 10 months later, I was baptized. It was the best decision of my life!
Personal Stories
How has your knowledge of the Plan of Happiness changed/benefited your life?
The Plan of Happines is what first interested me in the LDS faith. When I was a young child, I was sometimes fearful of death. I had questions like, "What will happen to my mom and dad when they die? Will I ever be with them?" As I learned more about my purpose of life on this earth and what will come after death, I was filled with joy, peace, contentment and HAPPINESS! I KNOW I will be with my family forever!
How I live my faith
I am a very active member of our church and have served in many callings from teaching young children, adolescents and women to planning fun and memorable activities for our ward. Now I am involved with the Boy Scout program with my husband.
