I am 64 years old. I am the mother of 3 sons. I'm retired from the medical field. I love doing family history. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I had loving parent that were members of the church and lived what they learned at church, they didn't just send us to church they took us and were very active in church.

They taught us the value of hard work and getting an education. We had chores to do around the house. We took family vacations together and gew up around grandparent, cousins, aunts and uncels.

Family was important to us and we did a lot of things together. We knew our parent loved and respected each other and their children.

I am the mother of 3 young men. I raised them as a single mother.

I have 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

I recently retired from the medical field due to illness. I now serve a family history service mission from home.

I love to reading, the beach, working in my flowers and my cats. I some times think there is an invisable sign that says dump your unwanted pets here. I enjoy watching the humming birds when they return each year.

I love my family and God. Family History has always been a passion for me . I love the family pictures, and stories. I love music, singing and leading the music.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a life long member of the church. My parents were active in the church and we always attened as a family. They didn't just send us to church they took us and I knew they loved us as well as loved God.

I know that the church is true and that we have a living prophet at the head of the church. I am thankful for the time our Bishop and his counclers give to us and for all they do. Our Bishops are not paid for their time yet they serve willingly. I know they are called of God.

I love the fact that no matter where I attend the Mormon church that it is the same. We are all studing the same lessons. No matter where you go you are made to feel welcome and as if you belong.

Families can be togeather forever. To me that is so great.

I am so grateful for the love and closeness of my family and know that it is because of the church and the love of God. Yes we sometimes disagree, we are not perfect but we try everyday to do our best.

I know that I will again see my parents and other love one if I do my part and live as I should.

I know that I could not have made if thru some of the hardships I've had in my life if it had not been for my belief in God.

Personal Stories

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

Prayer is like taking to God. I have been blessed and I want to thank him for all he has given me. I look at others countries and am so grateful to be in a country where we have the freedom to worship as we pleas, that we have a voice and that we can elect our leaders.

I am thankful that I have my health and a roof over my head, for the love of my family and friends.

I would be ungrateful if I did not thank our Heavenly Father for all I have. I know the Lord hears and answers our prayers, It may not always be what we ask for or as fast as we like, but he does hear us and answers us.

How has The Book of Mormon helped you understand the purpose of life?

I know the Book of Mormon to be the words of God. It is further instructions to us as to how to live our lives. If you read the Book Of Mormon and pray about it I know that you will know it is true.

How I live my faith

I serve in our womens group as the chorister. I love music. I have a calling a visiting teacher where I am assinged sisters to teach each month.
I also am a family history consultant in our family history center. Plus I am serving a mission where I answer emails and phone calls on as world wide support. It is very interesting and rewarding.

I teach American Red Cross courses for CPR and First Aid.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Have you every wondered where you came from, why you are here and where you are going.

God is our Heavenly Father and he has a marvelous plan for our happiness.
When you realize that God has a plan for you, it is easier to understand why you are on this earth. God wants all of His children to progress and become more like Him. This time on Earth provides opportunities for you to grow and progress. Coming here allows you to:

Receive a physical body.
Exercise agency and learn to choose between good and evil.
Learn and gain experience that will help you become more like your Heavenly Father.
Form family relationships that may become eternal.

By following His plan, we can return to live with him again and we can have our families with.
I can't image heaven without my loves one with me there. families can be forever.

By following our Heavenly Father’s plan, you—like all of His children—can someday return to live with Him and with your loved ones. You can have greater peace in this life and eternal joy in the life to come.

This question started my whole spiritual quest, so it is only most appropriate for me to now answer it.

Mormons believe that we were chosen by the Heavenly Father in the spirit world pre-existence to receive a physical body and to come to Earth to our specific mother and father. We agreed, and we essentially are fighting on Heavenly Father's "side" in the war with Lucifer. It is our spiritual "job" in this world to live a certain way, to use our agency to choose between good and evil, in line with the teachings of Jesus Christ, Heavenly Father's only son, whom He sacrificed to allow for our atonement to allow for our spiritual progression.

Mormons believe that while here on Earth, we should learn and live more like our Heavenly Father. This is our spiritual quest which is accomplished through our choices. We marry and build our own family, and by following the Scriptures and living accordingly, we receive access to the Temples where eternal ordinances are performed individually and together as a family.

We can be with our family forever, after death, joined together in Heaven, with Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. We have greater peace in this life and eternal joy in the life to come. This is the purpose of our life here.

Before I understood this and became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, my life was reasonably happy but devoid of purpose. Something was missing. I felt incomplete.

Now, I have peace. My soul is soothed.

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

I frequently hear people say that we need to protect children from pornography. That statement is true, but it forgets that adults are also damaged by the self-gratifying attitudes that pornography depicts. Pornography changes how we view each other. We should be politely vocal about our desire to avoid pornography. Pornography should not be forced upon us by our friends, government, employment, or entertainers. But it will be if we don't speak up about our values.
