Chat With a Mormon Online
I graduated from college with a degree in Art Education K-12 and taught high school art classes for 3 years. Then I spent several years working from home, teaching private art lessons to elementary age children. Now I'm prepping for the best job in the world--motherhood! I also run a small online sewing & accessories shop and write a rather eclectic blog about my creative little life. I love bright colors, making "stuff", good books, and my silly, sweet, hard-working husband.
My testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ gives me purpose and direction. I know who I am, where I came from, and where I'm going. This perspective gives me the will to persevere through times of trial and the desire to become more like my Savior. I'm a Mormon because this is His true Church. I feel it. I know it. I'm striving everyday to live it.
I have always been a creative person. In our world of comparison and criticism, it's easy to feel insecure about my abilities as an artist, cook, crafter, blogger, or even wife. As I've gotten older, I've come to realize that that what I create doesn't have to be perfect to uplift, beautify, and bring pleasure to myself and those around me. I have to constantly push thoughts of inadequacy out of my mind and resolve to use my talents for good. I can't use my talents bless others lives if I'm not putting myself out there.
Living the gospel is more than going to church once a week. It's a way of life. It's the journey to become the best version of myself by following the example of Jesus Christ.
