About Me

Oh, geez... About me. Well, I am a true Georgia Peach without an accent ya'll. Haha... I am extremely tight with my family. 3 brothers and a sister. And a proud Aunt to lots of nieces and nephews. So fun! I also have a beautiful son, that is hands down the funniest, dragon obsessed kid... ever! Ask anyone! ;) And I have a fabulous husband, who I've known since I was 17. But, was not your typical Mormon and got married right away. I went to college. Had a job and then re-connected after 4 years and got married at 24.
Anyway, love my family. Love to work out. I do professional hair and make-up for weddings, photo shoots, etc... So much fun.

Why I am a Mormon

Wow... This is a good question. One that I have questioned throughout my life. And the answer is... is that I believe in The Book of Mormon. I believe that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that we still need a prophet (that we have) on the Earth still today. I believe in Jesus Christ and that he is my Lord and Savior. I feel blessed to have been born into this gospel. And so happy that my husband (a very analytical attorney) accepted the gospel, as well. Even though it took him six months... lol! I seriously cannot imagine my life without the gospel in it. :)

Why do Mormons do family history or genealogy work?

This is something that my husband and I have started doing. IT IS SO...COOL! We are really focusing on my husbands side of the family. His whole family is from Poland and Germany, thus far. And as far as we know, he is the ONLY one that is not Catholic. Some pretty cool stuff! We are really excited to learn more...

How I live my faith

First off, no one is perfect. That being said, I strive to be an example to my peers, my family, and to perfect strangers. I try the best I can in all ways possible. I feel good, doing good. It is not a hard way to live when you do what you are supposed to...

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

I love this about our church and doctrine. I can't even possibly imagine that our Heavenly Father would be like, "Hey, you get your family for a lil' bit of time on Earth and never again." Really... I think not!

I lost a child three days before delivery. And I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I will see him again. Not only do the scriptures talk about it. But, I had a spiritual experience(too personal to describe) in the hospital that reaffirmed what I already knew. And I am so thankful for that experience. It was the hardest trial I have ever gone through, but would go through it again.

When married by earthly power and the authority of man, our vows are "Until death do you part."

We believe that families can be together forever as part of our Heavenly Father's Great Plan of Happiness. His Work and His Glory is to bring to pass the exaltation and eternal life of man. He wants us to be even as He is and to return home to live with Him again.

Through the ordinances of his Holy Temples, God's son's and daughter's are able to make covenants. Through the power of His Holy Priesthood, be sealed together for all of time and eternity as Husband and Wife, parents and children.

Families were designed and instituted by God with the intent that they be forever. The love we feel in this life does not need to be cut off when we die. Those who have already died are not lost us forever. God has mercifully made a way by which all who would accept these saving ordinances can do so, living or dead.

We perform these ordinances for those who have in the past died so that they may have the opportunity of accepting them on the other side if they so choose to do so.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

This question started my whole spiritual quest, so it is only most appropriate for me to now answer it.

Mormons believe that we were chosen by the Heavenly Father in the spirit world pre-existence to receive a physical body and to come to Earth to our specific mother and father. We agreed, and we essentially are fighting on Heavenly Father's "side" in the war with Lucifer. It is our spiritual "job" in this world to live a certain way, to use our agency to choose between good and evil, in line with the teachings of Jesus Christ, Heavenly Father's only son, whom He sacrificed to allow for our atonement to allow for our spiritual progression.

Mormons believe that while here on Earth, we should learn and live more like our Heavenly Father. This is our spiritual quest which is accomplished through our choices. We marry and build our own family, and by following the Scriptures and living accordingly, we receive access to the Temples where eternal ordinances are performed individually and together as a family.

We can be with our family forever, after death, joined together in Heaven, with Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. We have greater peace in this life and eternal joy in the life to come. This is the purpose of our life here.

Before I understood this and became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, my life was reasonably happy but devoid of purpose. Something was missing. I felt incomplete.

Now, I have peace. My soul is soothed.
