Dave: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Dave

I'm a Mormon musician! Or at least I try.

About Me

I enjoy playing the piano and singing. I will play, or at least have a go at, any sport you can think of. The outdoors are just magnificent, especially in the middle of the mountain wilderness of the North-Western USA! I just love getting out there and pondering over the beauties of life and the creations given to us from our Heavenly Father.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church, but became a bit rebellious as a teenager. After attending seminary for 4 years and taking the teachings to heart, my love for the Gospel was drastically intensified. I could feel the presence of the Holy Ghost so much more in my life as I read from the scriptures and prayed to my Heavenly Father daily. I more readily exercised faith in my Savior, Jesus Christ, and was able to work through the repentance process to make myself a much better and happier person.

Personal Stories

How can your talents and gifts bless others?

Playing the piano and singing are two gifts I have been given. I do use them for personal enjoyment, but the real satisfaction comes from watching other people smile. As I play, usually at Church, I love receiving comments about the musical number, not so much when they are directed at my ability to play, but more when they let me know that they felt the peace of the Gospel through listening to it. My favorite comments are those along the lines of "I could feel the Savior's love in the song!"

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

Just recently I have pondered over and evaluated my personal prayers. I decided they haven't been quite as heartfelt as they probably should be. I have been trying to incorporate more thanksgiving and sincere pleas for help from my loving Father in Heaven. He has answered these prayers much more significantly than my previous prayers. Why? Because they are with "real intent." I feel much more hopeful inside. I can feel more peace. I am much more capable of controlling my thoughts, words, and actions and bring them more in line with what the Savior would do. My testimony has been confirmed over and over again of the great divinity of this Church and Gospel. The power of prayer is much more real to me.

Why do Mormons go on missions?

I personally have gained a testimony of the restored Gospel by reading the Book of Mormon and praying to know if it really is God's word along with the Bible. Why wouldn't I want to tell everyone about the greatest truth I have discovered in my life?

How I live my faith

I strive to bring music to my ward whenever the opportunity arises. I believe that music is the very best way to invite the Spirit into our meetings. It brings us closer to the Savior in a reverent manner.
