About Me

I am a stay at home mother to a daughter who loves to play soccer and a son who loves to play ice hockey. Taking care of my home and two children is my job and passion. I love to organize and enjoy serving friends, family and neighbors.

Why I am a Mormon

As a young child I depended on the knowledge my Mother had in our Savior, Jesus Christ. At age 12 my Mother died in a car accident and I was given an opportunity to test my own knowledge and dedication to Our Savior, Jesus Christ. My Sister, Brother and I would go to Church on our own. Going to Church and following the example of Jesus Christ, gives me strength and happiness to get through my trials. I enjoy reading and learning from the scriptures. I am grateful for a Living Prophet who gives me continued revelation.

Personal Stories

What has helped develop greater harmony in your home?

Studying the scriptures as a family as well as having family prayer together has helped my family to have harmony in our home.

How I live my faith

In my Church I have the opportunity to work with children ages 3-12. I feel it is important to teach the children about Christ and help them to know who he is and how to follow him. I prepare to teach them, yet often, through their innocence, the children teach me. I love to work with the youth of the Church.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

The gift of the Holy Ghost allows us to recieve personal revelation or inspiration. It is a guide to help us when we make choices. This can happen by thoughts that are accompanied with a postitive or negative feeling. It is usually in response to questions asked about in prayer. The Holy Ghost can communicate with us if we are righteous and keep the commandments of God.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

As a primary president in my ward, I share in the direction and leadership of our ward. I don't feel secondary in any way. Whether you have the priesthood or not, you are still responsible to listen to the direction of the Savior. The priesthood is a tool and power that is the same power of the Savior. It allows the human authority to do work on earth, particularly perform ordinances, and bless others. As if the Savior was here in person during His ministry accounted for in the New Testament. I would use an analogy to compare the priesthood as a car. A car is an amazing tool allowing you to get you from here to there. I don't mind my husband driving and I can offer some navigation or work the radio, as long as we and our children get there.
