Donnie: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Donnie

I grew up in a small town in Missouri, I am 21, and I love to play games with my friends. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to play games and have a good time. I like to play video games especially and hang out with my friends. I love to spend time with my family and to read books. I am the youngest of 6 kids and I am currently on a mission for my Church and for my Savior. There are 3 boys and 3 girls in my family. I am also the 4th to go on a mission. I am glad I chose to serve and I am having tons of fun and glad that I have another 9 months left on my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of this church because in all honesty God told me that it was His kingdom once again restored on the earth. I am a member because the way the Book of Mormon makes me feel. I love this gospel and the hope it brings me. I am not perfect nor will I ever be so but I am going to try my hardest to follow the Savior and trust in him to make up the rest.

Personal Stories

What is hope and what do you hope for?

Hope is the begining of faith. It is a desire for something to be true. I hope for Eternal Life and the oportunity to help people come closer to Christ. I hope that whoever reads this and visits this web site can feel the Spirit of the Lord. I hope that everyone can come closer to Christ through the Book of Mormon. I hope that i can better myself and help other do the same. I hope for a lot of things and God willing I will be able to see the fruit of those hopes and desires.

Can you talk about the missions of the Church and your participation in them?

The Missions of the Church first off are Proclaiming the Gospel, Perfecting the Saints, and Redeeming the Dead.
I am doing the first one, Proclaiming the Gospel, write now as I am on a mission for the Church and telling people about the wonderful news of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and helping others feel the same joy and peace that I feel. It is a great opportunity to serve the Lord for 2 years and to dedicate my life to him. I have learned that people are, generally, good people who are seeking for the truth. And it brings me great joy when I am able to help them find it.
The second one, Perfecting the Saints, is part of Missionary work as well. We, as members of this Church, are trying to be like Jesus and follow his ways. We are always looking for ways to improve ourselves. Are we saying we are Perfect? Not by any means, for no one is or can become perfect in this life. "For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God." -Romans 3.23- But we are striving to do the best we can and we know that as long as we give it our all Christ will make up the rest.
The Last one, Redeeming the Dead, is also a influential part of our lives because we believe that we need to help those that have passed on to know of the truth as well. For we believe that all those who did not here of Christ or get the chance to except him in this life will receive the chance in the next life. For it is unfair to think that those people who have not received the chance to except Christ or those who have never even heard his name should be cast off at the last day. So for this cause we labor diligently to do the work for our ancestors who did not get the chance to except Christ. Now it is still there choice to except the work we do in their behalf, for we force nothing upon anyone.

What blessings have come through your faith in Jesus Christ?

What blessings, well I don't think I have the room to write them all. I will only write a few. Well the Biggest one I would have to say is that I am able to repent of all the things I've done wrong and to leave those things in the past, I am able to remove the feelings of guilt. Another one is I am able to have hope for the future and know that things will turn out for the best whether in this life or in the next. I have also been able to over come trials and better myself. I love my savior and am extremely happy to be apart of His Church.

Which of the Savior’s teachings have influenced you?

A better question is, which one hasn't? The Saviors teachings have influenced my life in so many ways. One of the biggest ones is how to love one another. I know there are people out there that just drive us crazy and annoy us but through the Savior we can over come that and have a love for those people. One of the blessings that God has given me is that I see people as my brothers and Sisters and I weep for them when I see their life in shambles and they wont even give us the time of day to to help them. They wont even give our message of Peace and Hope and Happiness a chance. And I truly am sad to see that the events in their life have made them decide that is no God. That just makes me ache for them and feel so sorry for them. Christ's teachings have given me a brighter out-look on life and let me a hope for the future. I love my Savior and everything he has taught me. I thank him and our Father in Heaven for restoring Christ's Gospel on the Earth today that we know and understand his teachings all the better. I encourage all who read this whether they are a member of our church or not to read and pray about the message and the teachings that are in the Book of Mormon, it will truly bless your life and help you understand the teachings of the Savior and even help you apply it to your life. I worked for me and it will work for everyone.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be like Jesus. I try to love every one around me and try to be everyones friend, no matter what walk of life they are from. Everyone needs to be loved and shown that there is a better way. The biggest way I live my faith is by doing what i am currently doing: Serving a Mission to bring the Gospel to everyone, which involves all the things previously mentioned.
