Pomai: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Pomai

I am married to my best friend and we have 3 beautiful and healthy children. I'm a happy Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints by loving parents. I have four older brothers and one younger sister. When I was twenty I moved to Georgia for college and met my sweet husband. We were married for time and all eternity in the Laie, Hawaii temple six months later. We now have three healthy and beautiful children and couldn't be any happier. I enjoy interior design and building anything that goes along with it. And I enjoy crafting, sewing and shopping too. I love my husband. I love my children. I love my family. I love my friends. And I love my life!

Why I am a Mormon

When I was eight years old I chose to be baptized as a member of the Mormon church. Since then I have always known that the church was true. My little sister passed away 3 weeks after I was baptized and were it not for the gospel and the principle of eternal families I would not be where I am today. The gospel gives me peace and security in knowing that as long as I am doing what is right I can be with my sister again and receive all the blessings that I deserve. I know that I have a loving, merciful and forgiving Heavenly Father who wants us to be with the ones we love after this life. And He made that possible through the atonement of Jesus Christ. I love this gospel and all the joy that is brings to me as a mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend.

Personal Stories

How does making right choices help us make more right choices?

With every important decision I have to make, I consult my Heavenly Father through prayer. I know that I can seek His help and find answers through Him. And I know that when I make a righteous choice I can have peace, whatever the outcome may be.
When my husband and I were shopping for our mini van we were led to a small local dealership. We prayed about having the Spirit to be with us as we were there considering a huge purchase. When we arrived at the dealership the service was a little sketchy. We took the van on a test drive and knew that it was meant to be. We put a deposit down and then went home to pray some more about it. We were reassured over and over again that this was the right move to make. We went back 5 days later and purchased our mini van. One of our fears was that the van didn't have a clear title although it said it did. But KNOWING that we had prayed and received confirmation that this was the right thing to do we knew that whatever the outcome was of the van, we would be safe and taken care of. That is the blessing of knowing that when we make righteous choices we find peace. And we then in turn are inclined to make more righteous choices.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being honest with others. By helping strangers in need. By a genuine smile or a compliment. By being willing to serve and share my time. By sharing my talents and knowledge. By giving without receiving. By teaching my children righteous principles. And by praying for others in need near and far. I also live my faith by being a visiting teacher where I take the time monthly to share an uplifting, spiritual message and my testimony with other sisters. And I also try to teach the principle of giving without receiving to my children through service and sharing. I want them to know that others need their help and service and that one day they may need help from others. My prayer is that they will always have the desire to serve others unselfishly.
