About Me

I'm a wife and homemaker. I have a 2 year old daughter. I'm blessed to be able to stay home with her. I enjoy music, family, crafts. I wish I knew how to quilt. It's on my bucket list. I love animals. We have two dogs. One beagle and one yorkie. I make wedding cakes in my 'spare' time. Someday, I hope to have my own bakery.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church. My parents allowed us to experience other religions growing up. I never felt the same spirit in other churches as I did in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
In my late teens and early twenties, I made some decisions that took me away from the church. I was not active in the church for the better bart of 10 years. After my daughter was born, I realized that I needed to set a better example for her. I can't expect her to do as I say and not as I do. I wanted her to be raised in the church and have a personal relationship with her Heavenly Father.
I am so grateful for the atonement of my Saviour and Brother, Jesus Christ. Through his infinite sacrifice, I am able to repent of my sins and short comings and be with my family forever. I never realized how much I missed the church until I came back. I was overcome with emotion and with the spirit. I am so grateful for my Heavenly Father and restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, specially prepared to restore the fullness of the gospel to the earth. I know Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God. I am thankful that we have a prophet of God on the earth today to speak to us. I love gospel and the joy and hope it brings to my life.

How I live my faith

I am active in our little branch and love the members. I just recieved a calling to be the 2nd counselor in the primary presidency. This is the first time I've been in any presidency and I'm nervous and excited.
I don't have a visiting teaching companion yet but I am looking forward to it.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

Modest is hottest! Most of the time, the way we act is directly correlated to the way we dress. When we wear business attire, we act professional. When we wear PJ's and lounge pants, we are relaxed. When we wear sporty clothes, we are active. When we wear revealing clothes, we are not acting in a way that would invite the spirit and therefore, we are more likely to succumb to temptations. We we dress modestly, we show respect for ourselves, others and most importantly, our Heavenly Father. If he appeared to you right now, would you be comfortable in what you are wearing? If not, maybe that's something to think about.

Modesty is almost a precursor for chastity. They are the built upon the doctrine of the sanctity of our body. By being modest in our actions and dress we outwardly show our understanding that we, as a soul, are more than just an object to be flaunted. Our body is a gift from God and he has asked us to save intimacy until after we are married. We show respect for him and ourselves if we hold off until marriage and always dress and act modestly. This principle can be taught to children through example, first and foremost, but also by being honest and explaining to them the importance of it and why we are asked to live it. Use the Holy Ghost as your guide as you teach your children.

We believe 100% that we are saved by grace. Absolutely. Period. No person can be saved by his or her works, no matter how great he or she is, and how many good things he or she did. In order to qualify for Christ's grace, however, we must live righteously, repent, and humble ourselves before the Lord.
