Hi, I'm Erin
I've been skydiving. I love my birthday. I'm a Wife, a Mom, a Triathlete... I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am a stay-at-home Mom, with 2 little boys. It is a hard job, but I love the time that I get to spend with my children. I take time out for me too- I work out a the local gym everyday, and recently participated in my first triathlon! As a Health Science major, healthy eating and living an active lifestyle are important to me.
Why I am a Mormon
When I was in the 4th grade, I became good friends with another girl in my class, who happened to be LDS. Our families became close friends over the next couple of years. When my aunt was killed by a drunk driver, my parents had a lot of questions about what they had heard our LDS friends call "Eternal Families." My parents met with the missionaries and learned about all that the Mormons believed. The missionaries asked my parents to read the Book of Mormon and pray to ask God if it is a true book of scripture. They did what the missionaries asked them and felt the Holy Spirit testify to them in their hearts that it is true. At that time I was 11 years old. My parents asked the missionaries to teach my brother and I about the gospel of Jesus Christ. They taught us many things that were so exciting & familiar to me, such as: I am a daughter of a Heavenly Father who loves me, I can pray to Him and receive answers to my prayers, etc. My parents, my brother, and I all wanted to become members of the Mormon church and to obey the commandment to Repent and Be Baptized. We were baptized on Feb. 11th, 1995.
How I live my faith
Being a Mormon is not a Sunday activity, it's a lifestyle! It totally consumes my life in the best way possible. I live life differently because I know where I came from, what I am doing here, and where I want to go. Everything I am working for, every "strange" commandment that I obey such as not drinking coffee or watching Rated-R movies is for a purpose. I love that I live my life in a way that is not confusing to my children. I never have to explain why I can do things that they can't do. Everything that I do is safe and acceptable for my children to do.
