Hi, I'm Ed
I'm a Mormon. My roots in the church go back to the 1830s.
About Me
I have been a Mormon all of my life. I have been married for 45 years and we have six children and 13 grandchildren. We have lived in UT, IL, KS, Germany and now in Colorado.
I have been active in local politics for 17 years and have been friends with governors, congressmen/women and senators. We attended the White House Christmas party in 2002. I spent 27 years serving my country as a member of the United States Army Reserve. My belief that the Constitution is divinely inspired motivates me to do as much as I personally can to 'protect and defend' it as I swore in my oath of service.
We served a mission in Edmonton, CA for 18 months. We have just been called to serve a Church Service Mission at the Colorado State University Institute of Religion and associated student ward.
I have been actively involved in church assignments all my life and have derived great joy in this service to people inside and out of the church.
Why I am a Mormon
Because the Holy Ghost has revealed to me that this is the true and complete church of Jesus Christ, that the Book of Mormon is true and is a record of the peoples who anciently inhabited the Americas and their dealings with Jesus Christ after his resurrection, and that Christ has called prophets to lead his church today as he did during his mortality.
My burning testimony of the Holy Bible is enhaced and increased by my belief that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and another witness that Jesus is the Christ. They are complementary volumes of scripture both testifying to the world that Jesus is the Savior and Redeemer of all mankind.
How I live my faith
I love to attend the three Sunday meetings: Sacrament Service, Sunday School, and the mens Priesthood meeting. During this time I am spiritually refreshed and recharged for the upcoming week. I have the opportunity to fellowship with many other members of the church.
I assist people not of my faith in understanding our doctrines and practices and teach them how to recognize promptings from the Holy Ghost that these things are true.
I serve voluntarily in the church whenever called and in whatever capacity. I obstain from alcohol, tobacco, coffee and tea as instructed in our Word of Wisdom. I give service to my fellow man as often as I can. I feel my Savior's love when I am in his service.
