About Me

My name is Tarin. I was born in Washington but I grew up in Idaho. I absolutely loved it.

I love to hang out with my awesome family and my awesome friends. I am blessed to have great ones who I love tons and tons!

I love the mountains. I love any kind of activity you can do in the mountains. I love getting to the top of the mountain after a hike and looking back and seeing the incredible view of everything. I love the still peaceful nature of the mountains. Snowboarding is pretty awesome too. I'm not the best at it but for me that doesn't matter for me it's the fact that I always have a blast doing it!

I love to sing. I did choir all four years of high school. I love the feeling of projecting my voice into something that sounds just plain awesome. I find myself pretty good at it. I hope to have some kind of band or group someday I think that would be pretty sweet.

Overall I just love life!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. Both sides of my family have been members for several generations. I know a lot of people that do grow up in the church eventually gain there testimony later in life. For me I never doubted my testimony. I have always known that the church is true. Everything about it has always felt right.

A few times I wondered if I really do have a testimony but then I thought about it and prayed about it and the feeling always was this church is true. I didn't have any aha! moments but I have had very spiritual experiences in my life that confirm over and over again that I am in the right place.

I know with all of my heart that the Book of Mormon is true. It is another testament of Jesus Christ. Everything about it confirms that. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God who was called to restore Christ's church back onto the earth again. And I know that Jesus Christ is my savior that He suffered for my sins so I can return to live with God. I love this church it has brought me so much happiness and peace of mind. I will live with my family forever and and be happy forever through the gospel of Jesus Christ. That is why I am a mormon! :)

How has the Holy Ghost helped you?

This life is very tough and will have plenty of challenges. Our Heavenly Father knows that and wants to help us and aid us though this life. He has provided a way to guild and direct us on the right path in this life and that is through the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is the source of truth and light. We can gain greater light and knowledge through the Holy Ghost. I have definitely received guidance throughout my life by the Holy Ghost. Without this wonderful gift I would be lost and I wouldn't know my way through life. He is that guild that keeps me on the path toward Eternal Life.

How I live my faith

Right now in my life I am serving a mission in Denver Colorado. I devout all of my time and energy in helping others know about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I do everything I can to help them know of the same happiness that comes through the gospel that I do. It's absolutely rewarding in many ways. To see the happiness come into peoples lives when they accept the gospel is amazing. It's hard but it's the best thing I have ever done in my life!

In my life my family brings me some of the greatest joys. I absolutely love my family and and I am so glad to know that i can be with them forever. Families are ordained of God and is the source of some of the sweetest joys in this life. Successful families happen when they are founded on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. When they accept the Atonement of Jesus Christ and follow His commandments and His example. To be able to know that the power and authority to be able to seal families together for eternity is an amazing feeling. We want this happiness to be experienced by everyone. Mormon's believe that they can be sealed or bound together forever through His power enabling them to live together in eternity. I know this to be true!!

The family is a key component to support us in God's plan for gaining immortality and eternal life. All of God's children (all the inhabitants that lived, are living, and will live on Earth) are inseperably connected to each other, both (physically) by our Earthly families and (spiritually) by our Heavenly Father.

Families help us to understand our divine heritage. In this, life takes on purpose and meaning. Our immortal spirits were created by our Heavenly Father before Earthly existance, and we are directly connected to Him in this way. As a spiritual family, our collective purpose on Earth is to follow the commandments of God that lead us to live in heaven with Him again.

Our spirits need to progress, learn, and grow. In order to achieve that, Earthly existance was created as our test. Our Heavenly Father knew that being exposed to opposing forces on Earth was the only way for us to gain knowledge and wisdom.

However, we will not always choose righteousness, and so our Savior, Jesus Christ, is that great mediator to pay the debt of our mistakes. He is the only way by which we can be saved from our sins and transgressions. He is the ultimate example by which direction we need to live our lives. With the support of our earthly kin, we can learn from each other, serve each other, and strengthen our mortal weaknesses by being disciples of Christ. Our families are a gift from God, and we can be together forever.

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

Well if Jesus Christ decided to have twelve apostles to minister to the people once he was gone, then why would he change his mind and decide not to have them ever again?
The twelve Apostles are like a pedestal, a foundation, where the church which is a beautiful vase is built upon. (Ephesians 2:19-20) When there was twelve and Juda fell away, it was important to replace that lost leg of the pedestal, so they chose Matthias, to replace Juda so the foundation would continue to be strong.
But when all the apostles where killed off, and rejected. It was like pulling a leg off of the pedestal, leg by leg. once you start taking off almost all of them, it becomes very unstable. because all the legs were torn off, the vase fell. And everyone knows when a vase falls, it shatters. There were still bishops around though, and they tried to piece the vase back together, and made it look very similar to what it once was. but there were still cracks in it and it wasn't perfect. And if you place water in that vase, it's going to leak out of the small cracks. Those cracks are small and simple truths, and authority that was lost. Because even the Bishops had to report to the Apostles before they were killed
But because God loves us and is perfect, he had Jesus Christ work through Joseph Smith (A prophet) and created a new Vase exactly like the one he made before (The Church), and a new pedestal (The Twelve Apostles). Because Jesus Christ church was the way he wanted it, and so it is again.
