Hi, I'm Siri
I am a girl who loves to be passionate about the things that I do. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I love to laugh, live, and learn! I am a photographer! I am also finishing college to become an elementary special education teacher and I adore children! I am a black belt instructor in Tae Kwon Do and I am the oldest of 5 kids! At home all my family speaks is Swedish and we are fluent- love our Swedish heritage! I like painting, singing, dancing, and especially writing poetry. I am crazy in love with my husband and we love to do things that bring us closer to each other through the counsel of our Heavenly Father! I do so many things and what the gospel has taught me about them is that if I am doing something, I should be able to be passionate about it in some way. This makes my life so much more beautiful. I am so very blessed.
Why I am a Mormon
My parents are Mormon and so I was raised in the church, but just like it should, a time in my early teens came where I had to know for myself if the church was true. I couldn't rely on family anymore. I prayed earnestly to know if it was the right thing. I did not receive some miraculous confirmation the moment I finished praying. After several weeks of continuing to study and pour out my heart to my Heavenly Father, I suddenly felt an overwhelming joy and the line from the story of Joseph Smith's account in the scriptures came into my mind with a power I had never felt before. "I knew it, and I knew that God knew it, and I could not deny it." From then on I have known. I know it and I know that God knows it and I cannot deny it.
Every time I look at my family laughing and smiling, every time I look at my husband with love in my heart, and every time I think of the children I will someday have, I know that I will be with them for time and all eternity if I live my life worthy of that great blessing. THAT is why I am a Mormon.
Personal Stories
Please share your feelings/testimony of the Restoration of the Gospel.
I am so eternally grateful for the restoration of the gospel. Heavenly Father loves us just as much as he loved his children anciently, so it only makes sense that he would give us a latter day prophet. I know that God chose Joseph Smith, a humble young boy who was earnestly seeking truth, to restore the fulness of His gospel to the earth today. I know that the Book of Mormon is truly the word of God and I am amazed at the light and truth that I find when I seek answers there. I am so glad that Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ appeared to Joesph Smith in the sacred grove to answer his pleas. I know that Heavenly Father answers my prayers as well.
How I live my faith
Every week I go to church with my husband. We spend three hours there being enriched and prepared for another week of school, work, and troubles. It is easy to see how much Heavenly Father loves us when we always find messages in church that seem to have been prepared just for us. We also love to visit the temple. It's where we were sealed together for time and all eternity. The temple is truly the Lord's House here upon the earth and even going there and being on the grounds can relieve us from the troubles of worldly things. It is a special place where we go to receive answers to prayers and be closer to our Father in Heaven.
I live my faith by attending my church meetings to be uplifted, by attending the temple to find counsel from Heavenly Father, by reading scriptures and praying daily, and by living my life in accordance with the commandments that we have been given. This is my joy.
