Hi, I'm April
I am a wife, a mother, and a lover of chocolate. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am married to my wonderful husband, I'm a mother of a sixteen-month old boy, I'm a college graduate, and a lover of music, reading, and fitness.
Why I am a Mormon
I was born and raised Mormon, and I'm grateful for it. Throughout my youth and young adult years, I have come to appreciate and understand the great blessing being a Mormon is in my life. The gospel of Jesus Christ means everything to me! As I hear and see the struggles that so many people I care about face, I know that only the gospel of Jesus Christ contains the answers to all of life's questions. The gospel gives meaning and purpose to our life here on earth - with all of its struggles, ups, and downs! I've learned through experience that true happiness, the kind that lasts, only comes from obedience to God's commandments and through living the gospel. I'm a Mormon because I know that God is real, that He cares about us here on earth, and that He has a plan for us. Life can be SO good for each one of us, if we choose the path that brings happiness.
Personal Stories
What is hope and what do you hope for?
Hope to me means that no matter what we have done in our past, no matter what we are struggling with currently - we can change through Jesus Christ!
Hope means that we can be happy and optimistic about the present and future, even when the conditions surrounding us seem glum.
My cousin is struggling in the trap of drug addiction and feels hopeless. The gospel offers hope to people struggling with anything and everything. The Atonement of Jesus Christ makes change possible. We really can change! We can overcome bad habits! We can become new people! We can have a new start, a new beginning!
People struggling with abuse, neglect, addiction, financial problems, empty relationships, poor health, and other problems can have hope now and in the future because of our Savior, Jesus Christ! Jesus Christ offers hope to all - especially to the hopeless.
Hope is for the present, and for the future! Hope means that life can be better and brighter today, and tomorrow! Hope means we can find happiness in this life, and in the next! Hope means we can put away our past and let Christ change us. Hope means that life can be happy, fulfilling, and peaceful.
Hope is one of the fruits of being a Mormon and living the gospel of Jesus Christ.
How I live my faith
Living my faith means staying close to God and learning and understanding what I'm supposed to be doing here on earth. It means doing things like going to Church, studying my scriptures daily, praying, and serving others. More than that, it means learning and developing a Christlike character, and striving to be patient, kind, forgiving, understanding, optimistic, loving, non-judgmental, and friendly at school, work, in the neighborhood, grocery store, or home! It means caring about other people - whether they are Mormon of not. I live my faith by trying to follow the example of Jesus Christ and by striving to keep God's commandments. I live my faith by working towards change when I make mistakes, by evaluating my life and by striving to improve and progress. I live my faith by making good choices and by choosing to be optimistic when I experience hard or difficult things. I live by faith by studying about, learning about, and coming to know Jesus Christ, and then following Him and doing what He would do. Living my faith means trying to be a little better each day.
