I'm a Mormon. I was born in New Zealand but live in Australia.

About Me

I work for Queensland University of Technology School of Public Health. I am also in the middle of my PhD.
My husband and I have three teenagers and three young foster boys.
We have an home business selling soap nuts and bamboo toothbrushes.
I have also recently begun a coaching business, teaching people how to set goals and achieve their lifes ambitions and dreams.
I like to cook but am not so much into the cleaning.

How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?

When we are teenagers members of the church attend early morning seminary. Back in my day we used to learn 40 scriptures from the book we were studying. Those scriptures from the Book of Mormon still provide guidance in my daily life. 1 Nephi 3:7 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them. It is comforting to know that the lord will not require more of me than I am able to bare.

How I live my faith

Sometimes I feed the missionaries. We also give them bags of candy and cookies.
I teach my Sunday School class nd pray daily (mostly about where I left my keys but also about more important things)

God through out the ages has spoken to His children through living prophets. We have a prophet today, named Thomas S. Monson. He is a prophet just like Moses, Abraham or Peter. My wife and I, were blessed to be personally called by President Monson to serve a mission. For 2 hours we sat in his office as he taught us. We felt his spirit and his love. I know that he is a prophet. This is the Savior’s church and He leads this church just as he did anciently through a living prophet. As we follow President Monson’s teaching and example we will be blessed to draw nearer to the Savior.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No. Every worthy young man is expected to serve a mission, though there is no punishment for not doing so. Also, not every young man is physically or mentally capable, so there are circumstances where a young man may be excused from service. Young women may also serve missions, but are not expected to do so.

Serving a mission means a full-time commitment, leaving family and friends to preach the gospel in a place assigned by the Church.

I served my mission in Los Angeles, California.
