About Me

I have the greatest family and they mean so much to me. I grew up playing soccer and basketball, but soccer is my real passion. I love playing sports and doing things outdoors. Right now I am currently serving a mission in Michigan. I love it and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. A mission has brought me so much happiness, I love being able to do the Lord's work and to serve the people of Michigan. The people out here in Michigan are so great, I have grown to love them so much. Each day i get to meet new people and share with them the greatest message that is on this Earth. When i get home from my mission i plan on going to school to become a psychiatrist, and while doing that i hope to get married and start my own family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church and brings so much happiness. It has brought me and my family more happiness than I ever could have imagined. It has made my family so close and has made all of us better people. It has good standards that bring happiness and joy to my life. It has made me a kinder and more loving person. I am a Mormon because I know that God has called a prophet to Earth again. I know that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and Jesus Christ. I know that through God's help he was able to translate the Book of Mormon. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I have read it and prayed about it and know for myself that it is the true word of God. I know that God hears and answers mine and your prayers. I know that He loves you and knows you by name and is looking over you, blessing you each day. I know that Jesus Christ is our Saviour and Redeemer and that he Atoned for all of us here on Earth. I know that through Christ we can be cleansed of our sins so that we can live with him again. I am a Mormon because i have felt the truth of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and Ii can't deny that.

How has the Holy Ghost helped you?

The Holy Ghost has helped me in so many ways. One brief time that it helped me was knowing whether or not going on a mission was the right thing for me to do. About 3 or 4 days before I was about to leave on my mission, I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't fall back asleep because I was thinking about my mission and whether or not it was the right thing for me to do. I kept having doubts about it and kept second guessing myself about whether or not that's what I should be doing with my life or if I was just a crazy kid for wanting to go. So I said a prayer to my Heavenly Father and I asked Him if that was the right thing for me to be doing with my life and if this was what I needed to do. Then the most peaceful feeling I have ever had in my life came over me and the Holy Ghost told me that a mission was what I needed to be doing with my life and that I wasn't crazy. I knew that a mission was what I was supposed to do with my life and I know that the Holy Ghost was telling me that. .

How I live my faith

I live my faith by praying and reading the scriptures each day. By thanking the Lord for all he has blessed me with and by obeying his commandments. Each week I go to church and renew the covenants that I have made with the Lord. Each week I strive to be better and to be more Christ-like.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

I do believe that we have a living prophet on the Earth today just like Moses. God from the beginning of time has always called a prophet, and we read in the scriptures that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. If God is the same yesterday, today, and forever it would make sense that he would call a prophet to lead and guide His children in this day as well. I know without a doubt that we have a prophet called of God on the Earth today. If you listen to the words of the prophet and his apostles, that we have on the earth today, you will feel the spirit of God through their words and teachings, and that will confirm to you that they are truly called of God. It is such a blessing to know that we still have a living prophet on the Earth today.

Absolutely. If God loved his children in ancient times enough to send them, does He love us any less?

Prophets serve at least 2 purposes.

In the past, Christ Jesus personally called prophets, apostles, evangelists, teachers, deacons, etc, according to the Apostle Paul. He uses such leaders to help move His great work forward, because it is through selfless service that we develop Christ-like qualities and allow us to be one with Him so that we may be One with the Father. Having a living prophet allows the Father to teach hitherto new principles or doctrine to all His children. We can always interpret scripture to meet our intimate needs through personal revelation via prayer and communion with the Holy Ghost. But the greatest acts of service are always done through the synergistic power of communities, whether they are a family or a nation. Our Father in Heaven understands this and he communes with his living prophet, Thomas S Monson, in order to bless the lives of all His children regardless of their circumstances or creeds.

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

Today, Mormons are commonly associated with polygamy, even though the practice was discontinued in the Mormon Church in 1890 - over 120 years ago!
Today there are still some who claim to be Mormon and who practice polygamy, but it should be recognized that they are not part of our Church - anyone belonging to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints today who practices polygamy is excommunicated and their names are removed from our rosters.
In modern revelation, we learn that we are never supposed to practice this unless specifically told to by the Lord (through the prophet) as was the case with Solomon and David in the Old Testament.

Know that we do not want to practice polygamy. I don't know any Mormons who do. We know that if we were asked to, the Lord would help us to understand why, as He will with any commandment. However, until that day (which we do not expect to ever come), we will neither practice it nor look forward to doing so.
