Hi, I'm Yesel
I'm a music lover, a sports fanatic, a foreign-language junkie, and I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I come from a family of 5, I'm the second oldest. I'm a sophomore in college majoring in International Business but I hope to one day become a surgeon. I speak English, Spanish, Portuguese, and I'm learning Japanese. I love music; I play the Piano, Guitar, Violin, Ukulele and the Drums. I play Rugby, I am the scrumhalf on our college's team but I love just about every sport out there.
Why I am a Mormon
I grew up in the mormon church my whole life but there came a point where I wanted to know if this was really where God wanted me to be. I decided to pray and ask God if the Book of Mormon was true and if Joseph Smith was really his prophet. I received an answer that it was and I've never looked back since.
Personal Stories
How can your talents and gifts bless others?
Once upon a time there was a rich business man who took a trip to a coastal town. One evening he decided to take a walk along the seashore and watch the sunset. As he walked, he noticed that the beach was littered with starfish who had been brought in with the tide and then become stranded along the beach. He also noticed a boy walking along the beach picking up starfish and throwing them back into the ocean one at a time. The man told the boy, "Young man you're wasting your time. There's too many starfish for you to make any difference." The boy quietly picked up a starfish, threw it back into the ocean and replied, "Did you see that starfish? I bet I made a difference to him."
Our talents and gifts, whatever they are, can help us make a difference in the lives of individual people. Maybe we're good at baking and we can bake someone some cookies. Perhaps we're musically inclined and can go play an instrument at a nursing home. Some people are really good listeners and people naturally go talk to them whenever they have problems. No matter who we are, God HAS given us at least 1 talent that we can share and use to bless the lives of others.
How I live my faith
I am a firm believer that the best sermons are not preached but rather they are lived. I have made it a life-long goal to let everyone who sees me know that I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and I do so by being an "...example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity" 1 Timothy 4 verse 12.
