Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a member of the church. I am raising my children in this faith. It gives us direction in our lives and teaches us to be good people, and how to return to the presence of our Heavenly Father

How I live my faith

I attend weekly church meetings. I volunteer with the scouting program.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

No the church does not endores political parties. Members of our church are asked to prayerfully consider candidates that the vote for. Members can be found in all different political parties including Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid a democrat or former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney a republican.

Members of the Church are encouraged to be actively involved in their communities. This involvement may even include political activity. The Church is made up members who hold differing political views, positions and opinions. While the Church will support any measure or position that will allow for the free practice of our religion, and the strengthening and supporting of families in general, it does not endorse any specific person involved in political activity, platform, or party.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Temples are used to perform sacred ordinances necessary for salvation. One of these is a temple marriage--making it possible to be together as a family for eternity. Since these ordinances are sacred, only members who are striving to live the gospel may enter. All members are strongly encouraged to become and/or stay worthy to enter the temple. Members also go to the temple to seek guidance, comfort, and personal revelation from God.
