I'm a Mormon. i grew up in Philippines

About Me

name is Lovely I've lived my whole life in Philippines. Unfortunately, during the school year I don't get much time to read because of schoolwork and my job( member of a dance group). But during summer, you can find me laying outside beneath a tree with a book.I am also a pet lover(dog), I love the outdoors like camping, touring, hiking, swimming etc. I love serving in my ward. I try to live up to all of the standards of the church by: Reading the scriptures, I make my standards a priority,i am not afraid to tell people of my standards and beliefs; pray daily, attend Institute. I try and be an example to my friends and gain respect from them, staying modest and refraining from vulgar language and activities.

Why I am a Mormon

I had a very strong faith.Being Mormon brings joy to my life. I love knowing God's plan for me. the purpose of life on earth is to learn to live faith, and develop the Christ-like qualities that will qualify a person to return to heaven and live with God.

I am a Mormon because I know that families are forever ..

Why do Mormons do family history or genealogy work?

Mormons believe that all the people who live on earth are the children of God, why is their Heavenly Father, and that, as children of the same God, we are ultimately all brothers and sisters, and part of the same family.

Genealogy work- or tracing one's ancestors- is all about linking families together.

How has The Book of Mormon helped you understand the purpose of life?

we are here on earth to gain bodies- which we all have done- but also to qualify for the highest level of heaven, which is contingent upon our behavior. the purpose of life is to learn to live righteously, in spite of all the trials and tribulations that come our way. To endure to the end is the goal. To gain eternal joy and happiness is what Heavenly Father has in mind for all of His children.

How I live my faith

I talk to God all the time.. I live my faith on a personal level as I study the scriptures, pray, and attend church. love one another..I look for ways to treat others with love and respect.

faith in the lord Jesus Christ is one of the key principles of the Mormon Church. in the Articles of Faith, it states

"We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on the hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost."

It's another word for commitment. When assessing one's own faithfulness, it may be easier to ask, "How committed are you?"

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Recently I taught a Sunday School lesson about the Apostle Paul who was cast into jail because of being falsely accused of taking non-jews into the holy parts of the ancient temple. The penalty for doing so was death. It caused me to think of the sacredness of the temple, and that people throughout history have gone through a preparation process in order to approach God through temple worship.

In our time, both members of the church and non-members who have not prepared are turned away from the sacred parts of the temple not because of secrets, but rather due to the sacred nature of the temple and the preparation required to go there. Anyone can go to the temple, given they prepare themselves and demonstrate that preparation in a visit with those responsible for qualifying persons for entrance to the temple.

I love the peace that comes from being in the temple, having prepared myself to approach the Lord in His house. I feel His Spirit there. I am grateful that others who are there have prepared themselves in the same way.

Anyone who wants to know more about the nature of the temples can ask any missionary what it takes to qualify to go there. My personal experience and witness is that it is worth qualifying oneself and experiencing the beauty and peace that is constantly there.
