I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in sunny San Diego California and enjoy living in beautiful weather. Even though I work as a financial analyst and stay indoors in front of a computer for most of the day, I love to be outside on hikes and camping. I'm also trying to learn to play the bagpipes, but since it's so loud, it's hard to find opportunities to practice.

I graduated almost 3 years ago, got a full-time job 2 years ago, and just got married 6 months ago. So it seems like there have been a whirlwind of new experiences for me lately. Mostly I work hard just to keep up with everything going on (and getting the bills paid).

Why I am a Mormon

Even though everyone in my family is a mormon, I still had to come to terms with what I believe. Seems like there are so many perspectives and even more questions out in the world, and when I left for college I knew I had to ground myself to the truth.

The aspect of mormonism that I appreciate the most is its focus on what I feel. There is always the promise that I can know for myself that the messages are true, and I don't need to just accept things at face value. The simple truth is that I love the way my faith makes me feel, and I know it is making me into the best version of myself.

I also love the focus on families since this has been the most important part of my life.

How I live my faith

Apart from going to church every sunday, I enjoy participating in church service projects. It is also fun to join in the church social events and get to know other people.

My responsibility in our congregation is to help the full-time missionaries share the gospel.

What do Mormons believe about "eternal life?"

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

In my opinion the real reason people say the Mormon Church is a cult because they don't understand. saying that it is a cult is an easy way to excuse themselves from learn more about it. Its like saying "sushi is slimy raw dead fish" or "computers are of the devil" its easy not to try / learn about stuff if you pair it with a negative word like "devil" or " slimy raw dead fish"
