Hi, I'm Linda
I was born and raised in South Carolina. I love being a mom and a college student. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am a stay at home mom. When I worked full time I was a vet tech. Now I take care of my 6 & 4 year old. I am also in school full time majoring in elementary education and I review books in my spare time for different publishing companies and authors. We love to go geocaching as a family and camping. I am very familiar with pre-term labor and the loss of a child. I also went through the adoption process with our youngest. I love to crochet and cook healthy meals for my family. I also really love to curl up on the couch with a good book. I just love spending time with my family no matter what we are doing.
Why I am a Mormon
My mom was a widow when my younger sister and I were only 2 years old and 8 months. About a year after my father's death she met the sister missionaries and talked took the missionary discussions. She learned about eternal families, that mormons believe that families can be together forever, even after death. In that moment, she knew that she wanted to join this church. I have pretty much been raised in this religion. I love it! My testimony of the gospel was a gradual growth. I had no epiphany or amazing faith building experience that suddenly proved the truth of the gospel for me. It was more "line upon line". I do know that this Gospel is true. I know that Christ lives and that he lived and died for us. I know that he still directs this church and helps to guide us in our lives. He communicates with a living prophet today who gives us directions so that we can return to live with our Heavenly Father one day.
Personal Stories
How has your knowledge of the Plan of Happiness changed/benefited your life?
My husband and I became pregnant early in our marriage.... 2 mos. Our son was born 5 mos later, very early. After fighting for his life for five months in the NICU he died in my arms. The only reason I made it through that without any antidepressants was because of the Plan of Happiness and the knowledge that I have of what happens after death. I know that my son was born innocent and came here for a purpose. I know that he is with our Father in Heaven and that he is safe and happy. I know that I will be with him one day as long as I live my life worthy to return to live with Heavenly Father as well.
How I live my faith
How do I live my faith? I live it in everything that I do. At home we use every opportunity as a teaching experience for the kids. At church, I am in charge of the children ages 18 months to 11 years. The children are incredible and demonstrate so much faith to me. My faith is just a part of my life.
