About Me

I am from southern California, I love going to the beach in the summer and playing my trombone and my viola. Usually between work and school I have fun being goofy with friends and spending time with my family. I have been going to college, but I took a break to go on a mission. I am currently serving a mission in Utah, the Salt Lake City South Mission. It's been an awesome experience for me so far to work with people and be serving others.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because I am happy that way. Being mormon gives me the a sense of peace, that I cant get anywhere else. Whenever I have a question about life I can turn to the Gospel of Christ and find my answer in the scriptures. I know that God has restored the same chruch that Christ established, once again on the earth. We have a prophet today that gives us the same message that Christ gave in his time. Because I can rely on the words of the Prophet, I know that the way I live is how God wants me too. The spirit has helped me to feel the love of God in my life, and has taught me the right path our Heavenly Father has chosen for all of us.

How I live my faith

I have been serving as a full-time missionary for the Church for over a year. I have been preaching the Restored Gospel of Christ to so many people here and I have seen great changes in the people I teach. I have met so many people who are willing to show their faith in Christ, and have seen God bless them with the Spirit in each of their lives. I have helped people to read the Book of Mormon and seen it work miracles in their life and in mine. It has been tough at times, but when I push through, God rewards me so much more with a better understanding of his teachings, of Him, and of His Son, Jesus Christ.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

The Atonement of Christ, is what makes it possible for each of us to become clean and pure from the sins and mistakes in life that keep us from returning to our Heavenly Father. Jesus Christ took upon him the weight for all our sins. He has made it possible for us to have faith in Him, to repent from of our sins, and to be baptized, so that we can repay him for the sacrifice he made for us.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony in the church is a spiritual witness given to an individual by the Holy Ghost that something is true. The Holy Ghost is a spirit, who is a member of the Godhead. His primary work is to testify, or be a witness, of Jesus Christ and of all truth. However, the Holy Ghost will rarely speak to us in words. Instead, He "pricks our hearts" (see Acts 2) and gives us a feeling of peace and joy, or a feeling of burning and swelling (the good kind) within our hearts. If we seek truth with real intent and pray to God that He will make it known to us, the Holy Ghost will bear witness of truth to us.
