Hi, I'm Kimberly
Born in Heidelberg Germany, am a self employed piano teacher, medical transcriptionist, mother of 6 boys. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I have been married to my best friend for almost fifteen years and we have 6 wonderful, active little boys ages 1-11. When not busy chasing boys (boy does that take on new meaning at my age now, then at age 16 and dating), I can be found playing the piano, playing games with my children, researching and reconnecting with family and friends on the internet, and baking yummy treats. I also enjoy making friendship pens and sewing, when I get the chance. I love to sing and participate in local music events with my husband and children. I love hiking, museums and historical information, and exploring God's beautiful world. We have one goat, two rabbits and chickens. Previous pets included: tortoises and cats too--I guess we scared them away! I have two children with special needs. You may read below under personal stories. My kids and husband are my world and make me want to be a better person.
Why I am a Mormon
I was raised as a Mormon, and honestly, cannot remember a time when I didn't go to church. Well, when I was 4, I was scared to go to class so my Dad would take me to Dunkin Doughnuts without letting my Mom know. Sorry, Mom! I chose the doughnuts at the time! I soon had great teachers that I learned to love and learn the gospel from. I grew up having a testimony of the gospel by doing the simple things--reading the scriptures, saying my prayers, attending church, having family home evening, paying my tithing, learning to serve others. I always knew that the church was true as I always felt the Spirit guiding me and felt warm inside when attending church or reading my scriptures. I knew that was the Holy Ghost witnessing to me that the gospel is true! I always wanted to serve a mission, but I married at the age of 20 and was not old enough to serve a mission. I guess, with 6 boys, I will be a part of the mission experience for many, many years. I hope to serve a mission one day with my husband and share this beautiful message of the restored gospel. I know that it is true. I have no doubts.
Personal Stories
Why do Mormons do family history or genealogy work?
I have two children with Tourette's Syndrome--one with vocal tics, and clearing of the throat and one with the vocal tics and clearing the throat and blurting out repetitive phrases. The one with the blurting type of Tourette's is also Autistic. He is a special, but sometimes challenging kid. I may add more information about this from time to time.
How I live my faith
I try to be a true disciple of Jesus Christ by living the principles that Jesus Christ lived and taught. We live next door to my in laws and they are the kindest people I have met. They live truly Christ like lives. I desire to be like them and learn from their example. I try to love, serve, and forgive others as Christ would, to truly see others as my brothers and sisters, be compassionate and understanding, listen with an open mind, stand up for my beliefs, communicate effectively and calmly, unite with others in our diversity, ask for forgiveness when necessary, refrain from judging or from getting offended, teach others by sharing my testimony and teaching correct doctrines, be involved in the community and in the schools, meet new friends and keep in touch with old friends, value family, spend time with those I love most. I truly hope that my family is considered to be good examples of what this church stands for and that we are considered disciples of Jesus Christ.
