Why I am a Mormon

I know that God lives and that he loves us. I know that he has a plan for everyone of us. I know he hears our prayers and he answers them in his own time and his own way. Jesus Christ is our Savior. He suffered and died for us. When we have faith in Christ and his atonement we can overcome or endure any trial, problem, or situation we are faced with. I know that Joseph Smith was called of God. He was called to be a prophet and recived the power to act in God's name. This power is called the priesthood. With this power he translated the Book of Mormon from an Ancient language into English. The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. I know the Book of Mormon is true. It has blessed my life and I know it can bless yours. I have gained my testimony of the the atonment of Christ through the Book of Mormon. By reading the Book of Mormon I know that you will find peace and comfort. I invite you to read the Book of Mormon and pray to know it is true for yourself!
One of the things the priesthood power can do is it can seal a couple and their children together forever. Which means we can have eternal families, and a relationshipe with our families don't end when we die. For me this means that matter what happens to me or my family I will see them again. This is a great comfort to me!

Personal Stories

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

Prayer is one of the most important things in my life. There will be a time in life that every Human being will fail us, but God will never fail us. We are never alone although sometimes we feel like we are. There are times I felt so alone, and I prayed for comfort and to feel the love of Heavenly Father. It's amazing how the comfort comes. Sometimes it's through the scriptures and other times is act of service by someone. Like a hug or someone who takes the time to listen. I know my prayers are heard. Right now I am away from my family and cannot talk to my mom or dad every time I have a question or a concern. So I pray to God who is all knowing. He has never failed me. He answers in his own time and in his own way, but he always answers! I know he lives! I know he has answered my prayers!

How I live my faith

Right now I am a missioinary sharing the gospel. I leave my home for 18 months and go where Heavenly Father sends. I share the gospel and help those in need of service.

What is the Relief Society?

"Charity Never Faileth" is the motto of Relief Society which is a word wide orginization of women. Women ages eighteen and older. It's helps women become better sisters, mothers, grandmothers, and friends. Everything is centered on how we are daughters of our Heavenly Father. Our purpose is to become like him and our brother Jesus Christ. We teach the importance of service, values, and self worth. We have something called visting teaching were two women are assigned to visit another women on monthly basis to see if she needs anything. They share a spiritual message, and also see if there is anything that they can do to help her. I know Relief Society really blesses the lives of women through out the world.

To me, Relief Society means friendship. It's an opportunity to know and love and learn from other women from so many different backgrounds and situations and ways of looking at life and yet they are truly my sisters! I can't tell you how many times I have been wrestling with an issue in my own life and there, during the course of our class or other conversation, comes the answer. I know that Heavenly Father so often works through others to answer our prayers, and to me Relief Society is a huge example of that. I'm grateful not only for those who reach out to me, but for the opportunies to reach out to others through Relief Society. It is an inspired program and a wonderful asset to my life!

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Have you ever met a perfect person? I doubt it. Why? Because everyone makes mistakes. When you make a mistake or are confused on what you should do, you want someone to help you, right? We all need someone to help us. We all need a Savior. We always hear that Jesus Christ saved us, but what does that truly mean? It not only means that he suffered and died for you personally, it means that he lived and lives for us too. He wants to help us. Jesus Christ is the only one who underestands everything that we go through. He not only wants to make up for the mistakes we make, but he wants to carry our burdens too. All we need to do is let him carry our burdens. Everyone faces personal challenges and Jesus is there to help. Everyone makes a mistake qa some point in life too. The beauty of having a Savior, is the fact that we can be forgiven. Sometimes our hands get dirty, but they can always be washed clean.
