Hi, I'm Greg
I'm a father, grandfather, a great grandfather, and I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am retired. I've worked in various occupations.Being a grandparent has brought a whole new dimension of love to my life. I am an avid traveller. I have been to many parts of the world and hope to visit many more.
Why I am a Mormon
Several years ago when my family was quite young I found myself praying to God. In that prayer I told him that if He had anything for me to do He should let me know now before I lost my interest and committment to seek Him out.
A few days later while I was at home, two young men knocked on my door. I spoke to them through my screen door. I saw that they were wearing name tags and I wondered what they wanted. One of them stepped up to the door and said,"We have a message for you from Jesus Christ". I answered,"Yeah, what does He want?" He told me that Jesus had ministered to the people in the Americas in ancient times and there was a book telling the account of these ancient people.
In that moment, although I had never heard this before there was a special spirit about what he said that rang true to me.
After learning more over a period of time I decided to kneel down and pray to ask God if this book was true. I no sooner ask the question in my heart that I was filled up inside. I became so filled that tears ran down my face. It wasn't because I was sobbing, I was being filled so completely with what I now know was the Holy Ghost. I was moved to open the book. As I did I opened up to the Book of Helaman chapter 5 verses 9-12. It spoke of making Jesus Christ your foundation. I received a confirmation and a witness that the book was true.
After making some changes in my life; smoking cigarettes, drinking alcohol, drinking coffee and tea, I decided to be baptized. I was baptized in July of 1986 along with my 9 and 12 year old sons. My wife was baptized a few months later.
We have never looked back.

How has the Book of Mormon brought you closer to God?
Read: Helaman 5:9-12 and Moroni 10: 4 in the Book of Mormon.
How I live my faith
First and foremost I love and respect my family. Family is the most important aspect of anyone's life. I think, if you want to sum up,"mormonism", in one word it would be,"FAMILY". I try my best to fulfill the callings I have been given in the church. I have been a missionary, a youth Sunday School teacher, teaching children from 4 years old to 17. I have served in various Leadership positions and have represented my church on local eccumenical councils in my community. I have been a laision to the community to help provide food and support to local food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters. I work with local groups dealing with matters of drug abuse, domestic violence, re-entry to the community for former offenders, and work with youth organizations. I serve others whether they are members of my church or not. I counsel with people. I help them in their endeavors to accomplish their goals. And I smile at everyone, even my enemies, of which I like to think I have few.
