About Me

I am a Husband, Father and Grandfather. I have a beautiful Wife (we have been married for over 30 years), five children and six Grandchildren. I love spending time with my Family and especially with my Grand children, they really love to "wrestle" with their Gramps! I love to do anything outdoors, hiking, hunting, fishing, boating, wake boarding, riding motorcycles, snowmobiles, etc. I like working with computers and my occupation is testing computer software, or as I like to say, "I get paid to break stuff!"

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in a Latter Saint Family but I was not "converted" until I had to rely on my Heavenly Father and test my Testimony of the Restored Gospel to help through the rough times in my life. The Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ provide me with the strength that I need to keep moving forward in my life and know that I am doing what my Heavenly Father needs me to do.

How I live my faith

By always attempting to just do a little better today than I did yesterday.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Over my lifetime, I have heard countless theories concerning Joseph Smith - his intellect, his integrity, his sanity, everything about him. Some of the stories about him being a prophet sounded convincing... but then, some of the stories of him as a criminal sounded convincing, too. Then I read about Joseph Smith's visitation by the angel Moroni. Moroni told him that his name would be "had for good and evil among all nations, kindreds, and tongues, or that it should be both good and evil spoken among all people." Well, that was certainly a true prophecy. So, it seemed, whether Joseph Smith was a prophet or not, tons of accusations and slander would be said against him anyway! That realization made me understand that only God could confirm whether or not Joseph was truly called of him. I got a strong confirmation of that truth. When others tell me that they "know the truth about the Joseph Smith," I always question their sources - it's usually a book or magazine article, possibly even by an esteemed, intellectual person. But I cannot and will not question my source of the real answer.

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

No, Mormons or members of The Church of Jesus Christ do not practice polygamy. The church has nothing whatsoever to do with the practice of polygamy. People who practice polygamy are not Mormons or members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. If any members of the church are found practicing plural marriage, they are excommunicated, which is the most serious penalty the Church can impose. Not only are those involved in direct violation of the civil law, they are in violation of the law of this Church.
