About Me

I was born and raised within the same ten-mile radius. My husband was born in Italy, raised in Chile and came to the United States at 13. He taught me how to Salsa dance, I got to be the first to introduce him to Disneyland. Being together makes us happy and we find fulfillment and joy in raising our daughter and watching her learn new things.

Why I am a Mormon

As a Mormon, I have learned my purpose in being here on this Earth. Knowing I am one of God's children to whom I am accountable for my decisions and that He loves me inspires me to live better than I would otherwise.

How I live my faith

I try to learn about who Jesus Christ is and then live my life in a manner that would please Him. Every minute of every day counts from how I conduct myself in less-than-ideal traffic situations to how I approach someone who needs help.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

We renew promises during the sacrament each Sunday to live in a way that will allow us to take the name of Jesus Christ upon us and always have His Spirit to be with us. We remember that during the week as we work, play and socialize.

Family is everything to us. Our family spends lots of our free time together because we like each other. Life gets crazy with teenagers, dance practice, after school academic decathlon, usually with a toddler in tow, but no matter what, every Monday night is Family Night.

The kids know that every Monday we spend time together and nothing gets in the way of it. It's our commitment to each other. We bake cookies, have lessons about the Savior, work on personal goals, go to the park, go geocaching, play board games or just go out for ice cream.

We do lots of things together. The point is that at least once a week we spend an hour or two together, just for the sake of being together, just because we love being together as a family. It's not as perfect as it may sound, with all the poking and "she's in my spot," and all the other crazy things family members do to each other when scrambling for a spot in the living room, but we try real hard. It takes effort to make sure we don't miss, but it's worth it.

I'm not sure the kids will remember all the games we played, the places we went or what we did, but I hope they always remember that we loved each other enough to dedicate one night a week to be with each other. And that we spent every Monday night together for as many Mondays as they can remember because family is everything to us, and every member of our family is important.

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

No. Mormons do NOT practice polygamy. There are many people outside the Church that say otherwise, but that doesn't change the truth of the matter.

There is nobody living on this earth right now who can truly claim to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who practices polygamy. It is against the law, both of the land and of the Church. We do not approve of such things.

There are some groups of people who do practice this and also claim to be Mormons, but I assure you that they are not in any way affiliated with this Church.
