About Me

I was married to my best friend April of 2010 in the Salt Lake City Temple. I am currently living in Arizona where my husband is attending medical school. I graduated with a degree in Advertising but am currently working in retail. When I'm not working or spending time with my husband I love learning how to be more domestic by learning how to cook, sew, decorate and just be an all around better person.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born into the church. Both my parents are members and raised me to be a Mormon. But that's not the reason I am a Mormon. I am what I am because I know the Mormon church the only true church today. I know for myself that being a Mormon means being able to be with my family forever. There is a comfort in my life from knowing that there is a plan for me and that my Heavenly Father loves me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith each day through prayer and scripture study. On Sundays I attend church where my husband and I teach the four year olds. We love serving as four year old teachers because we are able to teach the basics of the gospel. To be honest those children end up teaching us more than we teach them because they are so innocent and close to the spirit. I also visit and share a spiritual message with a few other women in our church once a month. It is a great way to meet new friends and get to know new people who I might have not known before.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Mormons believe that family is essential to Heavenly Fathers plan. I absolutely believe this to be true. I have seen the difference a strong family makes in a persons life. I know that being a valued member in my family has made a difference in my life. When I lived at home I remember friends coming over to my house and actually commenting on how cool it was to see how close of a family we were. They saw that we loved one another and that my parents actually loved each other. I hope to someday have a loving family of my own and hopefully if my husband and I work together our children will feel the same love that I have felt.

Mormons also believe that families can be together forever. That is one thing I love about the Mormon church, that fact that I know I will be with my husband (and eventually children) forever. This is an especially important principle to believe when death takes its toll on families. When someone you love dies knowing that you will get to see that person again can bring so much comfort in a time of so much darkness and sadness.

The family is a key component to support us in God's plan for gaining immortality and eternal life. All of God's children (all the inhabitants that lived, are living, and will live on Earth) are inseperably connected to each other, both (physically) by our Earthly families and (spiritually) by our Heavenly Father.

Families help us to understand our divine heritage. In this, life takes on purpose and meaning. Our immortal spirits were created by our Heavenly Father before Earthly existance, and we are directly connected to Him in this way. As a spiritual family, our collective purpose on Earth is to follow the commandments of God that lead us to live in heaven with Him again.

Our spirits need to progress, learn, and grow. In order to achieve that, Earthly existance was created as our test. Our Heavenly Father knew that being exposed to opposing forces on Earth was the only way for us to gain knowledge and wisdom.

However, we will not always choose righteousness, and so our Savior, Jesus Christ, is that great mediator to pay the debt of our mistakes. He is the only way by which we can be saved from our sins and transgressions. He is the ultimate example by which direction we need to live our lives. With the support of our earthly kin, we can learn from each other, serve each other, and strengthen our mortal weaknesses by being disciples of Christ. Our families are a gift from God, and we can be together forever.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Definitely! In fact, it is hard for me to imagine the world without them. We live in difficult times with wars, economic uncertainty, and just issues and questions that are unique to our generation. Prophets are able to speak with God and relay critical guidance to us that help us to always know what God would have us do.

I believe God loved His children enough in the 'old' days to send His prophets to guide and teach them. He is unchanging, and loves us equally and continues to always have His prophets give us instructions that pertain to our generation.
