Hi, I'm David
I am a husband, father, coach, educator, adventurer, athlete, scholar, and writer. I'm a Mormon.
About Me
I am a husband and father in a family that loves to do things together. We enjoy activities like soccer, camping, hiking, cycling, swimming, shooting, sports and trying new things like martial arts. During the summer, you may see us visiting national parks or beaches, constantly searching for the best place to get an amazing sandwich. In the evening you can find us playing board games, reading, or enjoying a movie or video game. I have completed graduate studies in education and work as a curriculum writer and professional educator. I also am actively involved in local politics.
Why I am a Mormon
I have noticed that when I live according to the teachings and tenets of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I am at peace. Regardless of the challenges I face, I am calm because I know what God expects of me. By following the example of Jesus Christ and relying on His sacrifice to make up for my inadequacies, I feel anchored and stable through the storms of life. When I do not live according to these teachings, I lose track of what is important in life and am not at peace with myself, my family, or with my Heavenly Father. Being a Mormon has given me direction for this life, and the hereafter.
How I live my faith
I spend a lot of time with teen age members of the Church of Jesus Christ. We meet together either before school or during breaks. I help them understand the teachings and experiences contained within the scriptures in order assist them in meeting the challenges they currently face.
