About Me

I am a missionary, BYUI student, and outdoor fanatic. I grew up in Idaho and so naturally... I love the outdoors. I love sports, for example football, basketball, soccor, and snowboarding. I also love to go camping and fishing. One of my hobbies is cooking, although I might not be the best at it. But I think what tops them all is being able to hangout with all my family and best friends and just have fun!

Yo crecí en el estado Idaho en los Estados Unidos y naturalmente me encanta estar fuera de la casa. Ahora, estoy en Texas, serviendo una mission. Antes yo estudiaba en Brigham Young University-Idaho. Me gusta jugar los deportes por ejemplo el fútbol americano, baloncesto, fútbol, y esquiar. Tambien me encanta campar, y pescar. Unos de los pasatiempos mios es estar en la cocina. Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church all my life, but there came a time where I had to take a step of faith and branch out from the foundation of my parents and to find out for myself if the was Church true. I was challenged to read the Book of Mormon by one of my friends and then to ask God our Heavenly Father if it is true! Sure enough I began to read, and after I had read the final verses in the book I did as my friend had challenged me to do, and knelt down to pray. After I had prayed I received my personal witness that the Book of Mormon is true, and that Jesus Christ truly is my Savior!
As a reslut to this answer, I know that Joseph Smith was a man called by God to restore the church, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is God's true church.

¿Por qué soy mormon?
Yo nací y crecí en la iglesia toda mi vida. Pero llegó un tiempo cuando tenía que tomar un paso de fe y seperarame de la base de mis padres y encontrar la verdad por mi mismo. Me dió un desafio mi amigo de leer el Libro de Mormon y luego preguntarle a Dios sí era un libro verdadero. Pues, empezé a leer, y cuando lo terminé el final versiculo hicé lo que quería que hiciera mi amgo o sea, oré. Despues que oré recibí mi propio tesitmonio que el Libro de Mormon es un libro de Dios, tambien que Jesús es mi salvador y que José Smith fue llamado por Dios para restaurar la iglesia.
Testifico que La Iglesia De Jesucristo De Los Santos De Los Últimos Días es la iglesia verdadera.

Why do Mormons go on missions?

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ, and one who holds the Holy Priesthood, it is a duty, resposability, and great blessing to serve a mission. God has commanded that EVERY young man, who is a member of the church, prepare himself to serve. And when he has reached the age of eligibility, to make himself avalible and serve.

I chose to serve a mission because I know that the church has been restored, and that Joseph Smith is the tool by which that restoration was made possible. I wanted to share my testamony with all the world, proclaiming that I know that there is a Savior and Redeemer of the world and that he loves us. That in these troubled times there is light and hope. That God spoke with man and continues to speak to his children through living prophets. And finally that the church, which Jesus Christ established nearly 2,000 years ago, has been restored, and that every man and woman can know for themself.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving as a full time missionary for the God that I love! Everyday I meet men and women that want to know for themselves if God truly loves them, if He has a true church on the earth and how they can know for themselves. I get to testify to them that, YES! He does love them, That Yes! He does have a true Church and YES! They can know for themselves! I live my faith by helping them realize all of that! I live my life in a way that showes I love Jesus Christ! Through service to other people, following his commandments, serving a mission, and striving my best to follow the example that Jesus Christ gave us.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Mormon Missionaries proselyte in order to help others to come closer to Christ through five simple principles which Christ taught.

1. Developing or strengthening faith in Christ.
2. Repenting
3. Baptism by immersion.
4. Recieving the gift of the Holy Ghost.
5. And enduring to the end.

Our decision to serve missions is motivated by our belief in the Gospel and our desire to fulfill the Savior's command to "preach the gospel to every creature" Mark 16:15. The Gospel teaches us that we are all sons and daughters of God, and so we feel a kinship with all of God's children and a desire to help them enjoy the peace in this life that the Gospel provides.Our missionaries are not salesman and won't take much of your time, but I know that your decision to invite them into your home will change your life for good!

Are there restrictions based on race or color concerning who can join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have the priesthood?
