About Me

I am a stay at home mom and have the best little girl in the world! I enjoy anything that has to do with being a mom. My favorite thing is to watch my daughter learn new things and I am so happy that I don't have to miss a second of it. I love to travel and being outdoors. I like to be active and spending time with my family. I am blessed with the greatest family in the world. I have an amazing husband who works hard for our family and loves being a new father! I love life and learning new things. I have a great appreciation for church literature and I try to study new doctrine as much as my time allows.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know there is no other way to be truly happy in this life. Living the gospel makes life so much easier. I have been away from the church and know the hardships that go along with it. There is no way to explain the comfort of being an eternal family. I know my heavenly father loves me individually. It is amazing to know that he knows exactly what we are going through and has all the answers. Having an eternal perspective on life really makes it clear what matters in this life and what doesn't. There is a huge difference in my life when I am doing what is right like studying the scriptures daily and saying personal and family prayers. I am so grateful that I grew up in the church and have a strong testimony of the truth.

Personal Stories

How can we develop greater harmony in our homes?

I like to listen to church music in our home and in our cars. I do not watch things on TV that would take away the spirit. I have pictures of Christ, the temple, and some of my favorite scripture decorating my home to remind me what is important. We know that the home is the second most sacred place on earth. It is important for my family and me to have a refuge from the outside world where we can feel the spirit.

How I live my faith

I schedule the building for our members in our area. I have taught children and love serving the church. I attend church meetings and activities our church has. It is fun going to activities and getting to know people in the church in a casual setting.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

There is so much speculation and false ideas about the temple. There is nothing secret about the temple. It is the most sacred place on the earth and needs to be kept that way. That is why you have to live worthily to enter the temple. No unclean thing can enter the temple. The temple is a place of peace and rest from the troubles of the world. In the temple families are united for time and all eternity. It is a place of deeper understanding and personal revelation. Going to the temple is the greatest blessing. Everyone should make it a personal goal to enter the temple.

Recently I taught a Sunday School lesson about the Apostle Paul who was cast into jail because of being falsely accused of taking non-jews into the holy parts of the ancient temple. The penalty for doing so was death. It caused me to think of the sacredness of the temple, and that people throughout history have gone through a preparation process in order to approach God through temple worship.

In our time, both members of the church and non-members who have not prepared are turned away from the sacred parts of the temple not because of secrets, but rather due to the sacred nature of the temple and the preparation required to go there. Anyone can go to the temple, given they prepare themselves and demonstrate that preparation in a visit with those responsible for qualifying persons for entrance to the temple.

I love the peace that comes from being in the temple, having prepared myself to approach the Lord in His house. I feel His Spirit there. I am grateful that others who are there have prepared themselves in the same way.

Anyone who wants to know more about the nature of the temples can ask any missionary what it takes to qualify to go there. My personal experience and witness is that it is worth qualifying oneself and experiencing the beauty and peace that is constantly there.
