Hi, I'm Janna

I grew up in Utah, but have lived all over. I'm a mom of three, I love music, travel, animals, and being outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being a mother of three children. When I'm not busy being a mom, I like to read, travel, quilt, and bake. I enjoy exercise and learning about photography. I love animals, and my family includes an adopted retired racing Greyhound and a rescued Basset Hound. Music is so important to me, and I enjoy playing the piano.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS family, and raised in the LDS church. I am a Mormon because of what I know to be true - that Jesus is the Messiah, that He established His church, and although the truth was lost over time, it was restored fully through Joseph Smith. I am a Mormon because I know Heavenly Father loves me and has a plan for me.

How I live my faith

I work with the Cub Scouts and play the piano each week at church. I live my faith daily by trying to raise my children to be strong, kind and compassionate individuals with strong testimonies of Jesus Christ. I live my faith daily by reading the scriptures, praying and trying to always have grateful heart.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

We refer to "having a testimony" when we speak about a personal conviction of something that is so sure it cannot be denied. It's knowing something beyond any doubt, having received that knowledge as a powerful, spiritual confirmation. A testimony results most often not from tangible, hard evidence of something, but from the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit speaking to our hearts.

A testimony in the church is a spiritual witness given to an individual by the Holy Ghost that something is true. The Holy Ghost is a spirit, who is a member of the Godhead. His primary work is to testify, or be a witness, of Jesus Christ and of all truth. However, the Holy Ghost will rarely speak to us in words. Instead, He "pricks our hearts" (see Acts 2) and gives us a feeling of peace and joy, or a feeling of burning and swelling (the good kind) within our hearts. If we seek truth with real intent and pray to God that He will make it known to us, the Holy Ghost will bear witness of truth to us.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Believing in Christ is believing in his perfection. Being perfect he will always do what is in the best interests of his people. In times past man has needed the assistance of great men to help them in their journey home. That need has never changed. In fact, there has never been a greater need of a prophet to guide the people than there is right now.
