I'm from a small town in Idaho... but my music and art may touch the world. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Sophomore attending college. I am studying art and love to create beautiful things. I have a deep love for music and love to sing. I also play the piano and compose my own songs. I'm big on studying history for fun and I love to read and learn.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family with ancestors who were among the first members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. While I deeply admire the faith and courage of those who came before and left such a legacy to follow, they are not the reason I am a Mormon. My parents taught me gospel principles from a young age but I was not truly converted until I began to question my existence here on earth. As I questioned the purpose of life and my role as a human being, I discovered God. I still don't know many of the answers to life's great mysteries but this I do know: God lives. He is our Father. Jesus Christ not only walked the earth in ancient times but lives today. He is the Son of God. The Wonderful Counselor. The Savior of the world. He continues to guide His people today through a living Prophet, Thomas S. Monson. I testify that Joseph Smith was called by God to RESTORE His church upon the earth in these latter days. Why am I a Mormon? I am a Mormon because I have come to know how personally God loves me... And I will do His will because I love Him.

How I live my faith

As a young single adult I have the opportunity to get involved with other young adults through religion classes. I am currently a member of the Orem, Utah Institute of Religion Latter-Day Celebration Choir. As such I am able to testify of the Savior through Music to all who are able to hear us sing! While I may not always have the opportunity to participate in choirs, I will ALWAYS praise the Lord, Jesus Christ through song. I especially enjoy serving as the ward choir director.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

We believe that the God head consists of three separate and distinct beings. The Holy Ghost is the third member of the God head and testifies of the Father and the Son. The Holy Ghost is the Comforter and can bring peace to your soul. It is the Holy Ghost that has comforted me in times of sorrow. He has testified of the reality of the Son of God. Through the Holy Ghost and because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I have been born again.

Are there restrictions based on race or color concerning who can join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have the priesthood?

No. There have never been any race-related restrictions on who joins the church. People of all races and colors have been baptized from the beginning.

However, for a period of time priesthood ordinations in the Church were restricted - This policy was officially changed in 1978 when Official Declaration declared that “every faithful, worthy man in the Church may receive the holy priesthood, with power to exercise its divine authority, and enjoy with his loved ones every blessing that flows therefrom, including the blessings of the temple. Accordingly, all worthy male members of the Church may be ordained to the priesthood without regard for race or color.”
