I'm a son of God, I like to read the Bible and the book of Mormon, like to fish, play the piano, guitar, go to trips to the parks, lakes, recreational centers with family and friends. I like going to the beach, having fun in family and church activity groups. etc.

Why I am a Mormon

My older son Joseph D. already a member one day came home from P.R. to visit me with his wife and my two grand children, once there after a week one day him and his wife went out for a walk returning home with two new friends, they were church missionaries and after chating with them at my home dinning table I could feels God's love for me. I was ready to acepts the Gospel into my live at the time, and by following my older son example I asked the missionaries to teach me the six lesson before the returning of my son to their home at the carribean island. They speeded up the lesson and in just one week I was ready for baptizm, and for my surprise, was my own son Joseph D. whom baptized me at church. What a wonderfull gift from heaven above. thank you lord for your true Church, your restored Gospel and for so many blessings.

How has The Book of Mormon helped you understand the purpose of life?

By readings the book of mormon I could understand my life purpose much better which it is based on having the opportunity of coming down to earth from our heavenly father side in order to pocess a body of flesh and bones to then choose between right and wrong demostrating our obiedience to our heavenly father by following his begotten son Jesuchrist example of love, obedience, and his commandment by repenting from our wrongly doing choosing the right during the time of our life in earth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by helping and been nice with others, pressing my services at church with my brethrens and neighbors and by sharing the Golpel with everyone I meet in my daily basis. Reading the scriptures, having home evening study and visiting the families under my care at church including friends and beyond.

What is the First Vision?

The first vision was when a young 14 years old men wanting to find the true Church of Christ on earth in order to join it. He went to seek out for knowledge by asking God in a humble prayer at a small grove near his home, and by asking with faith as advised by the scriptures in James 1:5 that said, If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. He saw in a vision the Heavenly Father God and his begotten son Jesuchrist receiving the knowledge he was looking for thereafter.

Do Mormons practice polygamy?

The short answer: no.

The fun answer: I am always a bit surprised when I get asked whether Mormon's practice polygamy, especially since it is a point of pride among Mormons that we tend to be more "monogomous" than the general population - the divorce rate among Mormons is much lower than it is among non-Mormons, hence marriage to a second, third, or fourth husband or wife is much less likely.

The informative answer: In the first half of the 19th century and beginning with Joseph Smith, the founding Prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Lord commanded certain men to take more than one wife for reasons that are known in full only to God himself. These men and women sought in faith to live the commandments of God as they were taught by the Prophets of God. The practice of plural marriage continued in a highly organized and church-sanctioned fashion until the Lord commanded that the practice be discontinued in the year 1890.

I am a descendant of the fourth wife of one such man. I have read his journals and heard accounts of his day to day interactions with his family and friends. He was a good and an honest man, as were most if not all of the men to whom the command was given from the Lord to take more than one wife, both in the early days of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and in Biblical times.
