Chat With a Mormon Online
I have always enjoyed school. I majored in Chemistry/Physics Education and am about to finish my first year as a junior high teacher. I come from a family of four. My older sister is married and has two beautiful little girls. I love being able to claim the title of aunt. I am a newlywed am loving the married life so far. :) As for my hobbies.. I love sports. Basketball and Tennis are my favorite to play. My husband and I enjoy playing tennis whenever the weather is nice. I love watching the Olympics and spending any of my extra time with my husband.
My dad joined the church when he was about 12 years old and my mom was raised in the church. I was blessed to be born into the church. Even though I have been raised Mormon I still had to go through my own conversion process. I have always enjoyed going to church and participating in church activities. Seminary and Institute were always great and have helped me gain a testimony of the gospel. I feel I have always had the Spirit with me but never really appreciated it until my senior year of high school. This is when I really came to appreciate the gospel and realized the impact the gospel has on my life. I was in my seminary class and we were talking about the importance of reading scriptures consistently. I was always decent at reading but it was never a priority. I finally realized how amazing the Book of Mormon is and the sacrifices that went into this book. Since then I have been so much better at making scriptures and prayer a daily part of me. I still need improvement but I feel overall since then my testimony has grown so much. I LOVE my membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is something I can always lean back on and has gotten me through difficult times. I am so grateful for Joseph Smith and for the day he went to the Sacred Grove. I know we have apostles and a prophet that leads and guides our church. I am so grateful for the service they have given. I cannot really describe all of the feelings of happiness I have had because of the Gospel, but I know it is true and I love being a member of this church. :)
When I think of this question I immediately think of service. I have only been married for a few months now, but I have already come to know that when my husband and I serve each other our home is full of love. When we spend time to talk, give each other hugs, do a simple chore to help the other one, etc. we are so much happier. It is the simple things that make the difference. I also have noticed that when we say a prayer before we go to bed it is so much better! It is hard to say a prayer together and still feel negative after the prayer. So instead of going to bed with bad feelings we go to bed cuddling!.. It is a much better way to go. :)
Missions are absolutely wonderful! It is a way for us to give time to Heavenly Father and serve others. There are so many people on the Earth who have not been able to hear about the gospel. Missions are a way to give people the opportunity to hear about the gospel.
Each Sunday my husband and I have the opportunity to team teach the 6 year-old children in our ward. We teach them about the church and why it is important. We love teaching that class. They are so full of energy and kindness. As well as teaching the six-year old children in our ward, I visit three sisters in the ward on a monthly basis. I visit them to see how they are doing and then give them a message about the gospel to help them have the Spirit and remember the wonderful teachings we have in our church.
