I'm a Mormon. I grew up in So. Cal. I'm a wife, a mother of three and a preschool teacher.

About Me

I've been married to my husband, Daniel, for 16 years and we have 3 kids. I'm a stay at home mom and a part time preschool teacher. I love to read and in my spare time I've been writing a story of my own. I also like to exercise, which is a good thing, because I also love to cook and eat. My husband and I love to go mountain biking together. As a family we like to bike and camp.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both Mormon, so I was born into our faith. I am a Mormon now because I have studied The Bible and The Book of Mormon, listened to the prophet, and prayed to know that what I've been taught is true. I've received many answers to my prayers, and know that I'm right where I need to be.

Personal Stories

How has attending Church services helped you?

I have been a Mormon all my life but that is not why I go to church. At some point everyone has to gain their own testimony. When I was a teenager I read The Book of Mormon and prayed, asking God whether the book was true. After my prayer I knew I had received an answer that yes, The Book of Mormon is the word of God.

Every week I go to church and I am uplifted, motivated to be a better person, and filled with the Spirit. I have received the confirmation that this church is the Lord's church over and over again. I love the gospel with all my heart. I cannot even imagine my life without it.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith all day, every day. I love The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and I love our Savior, Jesus Christ. I'm not perfect. I make mistakes, lots of mistakes. But it's nice to know that Heavenly Father is always their for me and he understands me.

Are Mormons Christians?

Yes, Mormons are Christians. I believe that Jesus Christ atoned for my sins, for all of our sins, so that we could live with Him again. He died on the cross and was resurrected. He is our Savior. I love Him with all my heart.

Depends on whom you ask. If you ask a faithful Latter-day Saint, the answer will be "yes". The arguments that I've heard against our being Christian are that we believe in the Book of Mormon (Another Testament of Jesus Christ); we believe that God the Father and Jesus Christ are two separate beings with physical, glorified bodies of flesh and bone; we believe that Joseph Smith was called of God in our time as a prophet; etc. The short answer is "yes", we are Christians. I would even go so far as to say we are the only Christians; that is, we are the only church that Christ has given his priesthood authority. If a Christian is a disciple of Christ, then we are certainly striving to be Christians. Certainly, other churches help and serve in ways that are admirable. There are good people everywhere in the world. However, Heavenly Father is a God of order, not chaos. He has established one faith, one church, and one baptism. There are not several roads that lead to His Kingdom; there is one. We all can receive a witness from the Holy Ghost that we are on that one path that leads to eternal happiness.

Check out ldsphilanthropies.org for some of the official ways that Mormons help. Our help is directed to anyone in need, regardless of religious affiliation.

We believe in being 'anxiously engaged' in a good cause. I have enjoyed serving the people of Guatamala and Peru on serveral occasions, to help train dentists, provide dental work to people who have no access to it, and to deliver much needed humanitarian supplies to orphanages and churches. I have felt joy in serving my brothers and sisters in other lands. I hope to get a better handle on the Spanish language, and return again soon to Central or South America.
