I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I served a mission in the beautiful country of Ireland and working with these people gained a greater understanding of how the gospel works in many people's lives. I was able to see miracles happen in their lives which only increased my testimony that God loves each and everyone of us. Take the time to listen to the missionaries and really study it out in your mind. I have my youngest son who also served a mission but he spent his time mainly in the Salt Lake valley of Utah. Many people made the choice to come unto Christ and be baptized and follow Him.

Why I am a Mormon

I have some ancestors who helped bring people to the Salt Lake valley. Their example helped me to know this church to be true.

How I live my faith

We have seen people move into or even from our little neighborhood and have usually gone and help load or unload the moving trucks. At times we have even provided meals which has started a great friendship even if there is not an interest in coming to our church we are still friends.

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

I have learned that the money paid as tithing is used to build temples, church buildings and schools where there is a need.

Tithing is paid in faith. I know these funds will not be misused. I pay tithing because it is a commandment, and because I love God and want to give Him back a small porion of what He has given me, to futher build up His church. These funds go to build and maintain church buildings and temples and other like expenses. Our clergy is not paid. There is no collection plate. We simply pay our tithing, our fast offerings, we share what we have gladly. This is God's way. For this is God's church.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

While I do not condone it, I will never look down on anyone for living a homosexual lifestyle. One of the greatest things God has given us is the right to choose, and I work hard not to judge anyone for the choices they make. I believe the church feels the same way. While not condemning those people who live said lifestyle, according to ancient and modern prophets, God has never condoned such a way of life. Therefore, the church continues to preach relationships and marriage between man and a woman, and families consisting of such an organization.
