Hi, I'm Taylor
I am an avid Jazz fan, I believe that living the "fundamentals" can get you anywhere, and I am a Mormon.
About Me
I am from a little town. I have lived there for most of my life. This little community is about as close to a family as my own, and we treat each other with kindness and charity. This community has shaped me, I believe, to become the hardworking progressive person that I am today. I have studied General Engineering at a college and I loved it. I am currently postponing my major by serving a full time mission in the Nebraska Omaha mission, and I am loving it!
Why I am a Mormon
I was born into a Mormon family. So as a child I was expected because of good parents to go to church and learn of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I did not really make any choice to believe in what I was doing with my time until I was in high school. The emotions, stress, hormones and everything else in high school were very irritating and I learned soon (through seminary lessons) that the best way to turn for comfort and joy was the gospel of Jesus Christ. From there I began to see the world different around me. I was no longer thinking about myself, but I was thinking about how I could serve others and help them feel the same Spirit that I was feeling. So I read the Book of Mormon for the first time and did as Moroni asks in Moroni chapter ten verses three through five. I asked whether or not these things that I had been reading were true. I was answered simply and powerfully that the Book of Mormon was true and that all things in the Gospel of Jesus Christ were true as well.
Personal Stories
Please share your feelings/testimony of Joseph Smith.
I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God. That he through the power of God restored the Church of Jesus Christ back on the earth once again! I know because I have read of his "fruits" or in other words the Book of Mormon. Which is convincing evidence that he really was a prophet. I know that God still loves us because He appeared to Joseph in the grove of trees. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ did in reality appear to Joseph Smith! As a result of that visit and many other events that led to the LDS church we can all benefit from the love and comfort of our Savior Jesus Christ, and all that we have to do to know whether or not our church is true is simply to pray.
How I live my faith
I live my faith by following the basics of the gospel. I pray every day multiple times to my Heavenly Father. I read His word in the scriptures every night. I attend church meetings every Sunday, and I try to become a better person everyday through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Also because I have been given much through the Gospel of Jesus Christ I too must give by sharing two years of my life to serve as a full time missionary.
