Why I am a Mormon

When talking with other "mormons", I could feel the Spirit strongly. The missionaries taught me things that made sense and fit perfectly in line with what I had already been taught from The Bible. I enjoy the feeling of love I receive both from our Heavenly Father and from other members of the church. No matter where I live or visit, the church is like an extended family for me, providing love and care when needed.

Personal Stories

How has your knowledge of the Plan of Happiness changed/benefited your life?

I love the Plan of Happiness. It teaches, in more fullness, our purpose here and what to expect after this life. I love how Families Can Be Together Forever. I love my children. I want to always be with them. They bring joy to me each day. This knowledge has also given me the strength to endure the days when things are difficult with the children. :-) This knowledge has also helped my children be more friends to eachother so there is less fighting in the home.

How I live my faith

I visit other females in the church monthly, or more frequently, to ensure everyone's needs are met and they feel my love and friendship. I teach seminary (scripture study) on weekdays to teenagers.

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (aka Mormon) is wonderful. When you walk into the church building you'll notice many persons who greet you. Generally we're happy and trying to do our best. You'll probably see a few crying children in the pews. :-) The church members quickly become like extended family. No matter where you move, like military members, you'll always have that extended family there to help you and love you. You'll find we're continually striving to learn and grow to become our best. Like others, we make mistakes along the way, but we're continually working toward being better. The atonement is something very personal to most of us and you'll notice our actions reflect that. Being a member of this church involves bettering yourself and helping others to do the same in a loving manner.

Being a Mormon to be is by far the BEST way to live. I have never felt so much peace in my life from knowing and having that knowledge that I am a literal Daughter of my Heavenly Father who loves me. I love knowing that I have a plan and a reason for being placed on this earth. I have a purpose and a Heavenly Father who wants nothing but the best for me!Being a Mormon makes me want to shout for joy! Having the restored gospel in my life and knowing that the TRUE church is once again on this earth brings me so much happiness. Being a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints brings me so much joy, and makes me want to share this truth and knowledge with everyone that I know. In fact, that is the VERY reason why I am serving a Mission. Also knowing that I can be with my family for Eternity, now there is no greater joy than that. I love being Mormon. I can not think of ANY way better to live

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

I have come to know our Father in Heaven through private prayer and service. As I pray and receive answers through impressions and feelings, I am able to assist in His work. At other times, I have been comforted at the times when I needed it most by a very real presence. I feel His love as I serve others and I can feel His love for them.
