Hi, I'm Ryan
I am an avid sports fan living in the beautiful state of Colorado. I love my family and my life. I am a Mormon.
About Me
I have a great life. I have a wonderful wife and two children. My family won't allow me to have a pet, or maybe it is the other way around, but I do enjoy having an occasional pet fish. In addition to the love I have for my family, I also love sports. I enjoy playing basketball, camping, hiking and watching college football. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. I am the Business Manager for a company producing vinyl replacement windows in Colorado and California.
Why I am a Mormon
I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints my entire life. I am grateful for my family heritage. The church has been a part of our life for generations. Being a Mormon has always been a blessing in my life and has provided me with values, guidelines and answers in my life. I am grateful for my ancestors for listening and accepting the restored gospel of Jesus Christ those many decades ago.
Even though I have always been a member, there came a time in my life when I needed to learn for myself about the teachings of the church. I could no longer lean on the example and testimony of my parents. Throughout my life I have received answers to these questions, which has helped me gain a knowledge of and a testimony of Jesus Christ as my Savior. These experiences can never be taken away from me or forgotten. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and through devine guideance restored the gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth. I also know the Book of Mormon is the word of God and is another testament of Jesus Christ. Together with the Bible, the teachings of Jesus Christ provide my family and I a solid foundation in a world of uncertainty and shifting values. By knowing these things, I have enjoyed a peace in my life that will never be taken. My testimony is precious to me.
Personal Stories
What are you doing to help strengthen your family and make it successful?
Time- I have found that bringing the family closer not only includes the required need for scripture study, prayer and family home evenings, but it also includes spending simple, yet valuable time with them.
With all our busy lives, this can be difficult. It is too important to overlook.
Why do Mormons go on missions?
When I was 19 I was able to go on a voluntary 2-year church mission. I spent the 2 years in the New Hampshire Manchester Mission. I spent time in Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachuesetts and Maine sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and my testimony to the citizens in these areas. Serving the New England people helped my love for them increase. I loved to see people change. I loved to see people receive answers to their prayers. This was by far the best 2 year for my life. It taught me to be a better person, husband, friend, employee, father and son of God. Even though my mission was over 15 years ago, I still think about it often. What a blessing. I can't wait for the day that I can go again with my spouse.
How I live my faith
Each day I strive to be the person Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father expect me to be. Though I fall short, I get up and do the best I can. Each day I strive to be the best example I can in word and deed. Those around me know of my standards and many times I find that they are the ones who let others know of my standards. I strive to be honest at all times and in all things.
I teach my family the importance of daily prayer, scripture study and weekly family activities. I know that our family can grow closer to one another by doing these things.
