Stacey: Wife, Mother, Homemaker, Volunteer, Baker, Crafter, Mormon.

Hi, I'm Stacey

I'm a Mormon. Being a Mormon impacts my life in a positive way daily!

About Me

I am a wife and a stay at home mother of four children. I love my being a mom, though it can be very challenging at times, I am happiest when we are together as a family doing simple things. I enjoy my life of volunteering at my children's school, helping at church, cooking, nurturing, and caring for my family. I love baking, being creative, spending time with my children, doing yoga and scrapbooking. Every day I like to try and be a better person, learn something new, and have some fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and baptized when I was 8 years old. I will be forever grateful to my parents for this and for teaching me what they did. I have struggled with anxiety, courage and self esteem my whole life. This has been a huge challenge and obstacle for me. Being a Mormon has given be great opportunity, knowledge and experience in learning that I am a daughter of God and am important to Him. I have grown through the church's programs and teachings, gaining self esteem and leadership experience. I wouldn't be who I am without this knowledge. I am happier, stronger, and braver, empowered with the church's principles and knowledge that God loves and knows me.

Personal Stories

Please explain the part prayer plays in your life?

I pray everyday, several times a day. As an anxious person, I rely on prayer for strength and courage. I know that I am never alone, I can pray anytime, anywhere, whatever I am doing. I know God is listening and will help me. I couldn't live without this power. Through fear, stress, unemployment, cancer, the death of my parents, 2 near fatal accidents involving my children, temptations, and the trials of life, prayer has always helped. Sometimes it is all that I have had. As a mom, it helps guide me and teach my children. I can't imagine life without it.

Why/How do you share the gospel with your friends?

I love being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It brings me great joy and peace. I have many dear friends that aren't members of my faith whom I love and appreciate. I sometimes see that their lives are lacking peace and direction. They express concerns about raising children and about some of the bad things that are happening in the world. I often share with them my feelings and beliefs about our Heavenly Father's Plan for us. I tell them how daily family prayer and scriptures study has blessed my family's home. I tell them about the peace and the foundation that my temple marriage has given my family. I receive comfort and guidance from our Prophet. I listen to his counsel and it directs me and guides me, as do the scriptures. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints truly blesses my life and my family's life. I know that I wouldn't be as happy or strong without the church in my life. Because I love my friends, I want to share this peace with them and have them have the blessings that I have in my life. I talk with my friends often about the church. I feel it is important for them to know what I believe in, and understand why Mormons do what they do. I invite them to our activities and socials. We often discuss the events happening around the world and I share my religious views on this. At times of struggle, I express the answers that I have found in the gospel that have helped me, and share this with them.

How I live my faith

I pray daily and read the scriptures, and do this with my family as well. This brings incredible direction, peace and strength to me and our family. We go to church every Sunday and participate in the programs of the church. We read scriptures together and listen to sermons about Jesus. I also prepare talks and messages to share at church. My boys go to boys scouts during the week and enjoy the youth programs. I work with the ladies at church, planning activities to help them learn and be better moms and women. We also plan service projects for the community, making quilts, gathering toys, blankets, food, and other items for the needy. We prepare food and deliver it to the new mommies or those who are sick. We love our friends and enjoy working with them and learning about Jesus and how to be better people.
