About Me

I just graduated college in Sociology, I hope to one day become a Marriage Counselor. But, I am going to put that off for now to be a mother. My mom always stayed home with my family, and I want to do the same for my children. Being at home isn't the easiest at times, there are other things I could probably do, but I have found that my greatest joy is waking up and seeing that little happy face look at me. Each day she is growing and learning new things, it amazes me how fast they grow! I love to spend time with my daughter, read books, go walking, jogging, swimming, dancing, and playing board or card games.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the LDS faith, and I think the main reason I am still apart of this church is not because it is convient. I am apart because I know. To me it makes sense. It helps me understand what I need to do with myself, it helps me become free, free from addictions, pain, and regrets. When I choose to follow the example of Christ, I am happy, things workout, and I am at peace with myself and those around me.

How I live my faith

Right now, I am working in the cub scouts. I have just recieved this calling, but I am SO excited to work with these little guys! I also have two women who I am assigned to, to help. We call this visiting teaching, we go and give a spiritual thought, but while we are there we ask them if they need any help. I have helped some of the women by babysitting there children so they can go get some errands done. Or I brought a meal to the other person I visit and teach, because she just had a baby. I lined up three meals for her, so she would not have to wory about cooking for a couple of nights.

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

Growing up, I remember looking at all the married couples and thinking their life was SO easy because they already had everything planned out for them. HOW WRONG I WAS!
Now that I am a wife and mother, I know married life isn't a walk in the park. Marriage takes work, but I can say that marriage is easier when both of the spouses work together, they show each other that the love and care for each other. If a couple will work together, they will do more for their children, they will have provided a place where the children can come home and escape all the sick things that are in the world right now. Husband and wife have the responsibility of making their home a haven from world a place where they can come and feel loved, supported, and safe. This task is not easy, I have found it to be difficult at times, but I know that by working with my spouse, we can accomplish this.

The role of husband and wife in the family is to first and foremost love each other! Wow, revolutionary!!!
I have found that when there is love and complete commitment between my husband and I, there is no problem that we cannot face together. It is much easier to teach the children with love and to handle life's challenges.
My husband and I are equals. I feel loved, respected, and appreciated by him. I hope he feels the same things from me.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

We believe that all sexual activity should be reserved for marriage and that marriage should be between a man and a woman.

We do not deny anyone the right to choose. Hate has no place in our church.
