I'm a Mormon & love it! It is who I am. My eternal companion & I have been married for 6 yrs. & have 3 cute boys.

About Me

I am the full time mother of 3 young boys. A Preschooler & twin toddlers. I am the wife to a wonderful & loving husband & father.
I love taking pictures of my family.
I love reading books about becoming a better wife, mother, daughter of God, or person as a whole.
I grew up dancing & loving it & still get to from time to time.
I enjoy blogging when I get a moment & I enjoy making my house a welcoming home.
I enjoy cooking meals for my family & trying new things.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born & raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints & have chosen to continue living the principles of Christs wonderful church because of the joy, happieness, & comfort it brings me, no matter what life may bring.
My testimony of the truthfullness of the principles of this church have grown stronger over time as I continue to strive daily to make righteous choices & stay close to the Lord through scripture study & prayer.
This gospel is my life.
Life can be so hard & uncertain at times & yet, because of my faith, I have hope & a knowledge that I have a loving Heavenly Father who knows me personally, wants me to be happy, & knows whats the very best for me.
I can see the Lords hand in every aspect of my life & am grateful for that guidance when I stay close to Him. So because of this, I have direction in my life & a confidence that I will not be lost if I follow the teachings of my Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith the best to my ability everday, while always striving to become more Christlike in every way. Scripture study & prayer are an important part of my daily life.
I seek daily for inspiration from my Father in Heaven to help guide me along my way & listen for answers to my earnest prayers.
We have a family night every Monday night with our kids to teach them, guide them, & have fun with them.
My husband & I attend the temple together as often as possible.
My eternal companion is my top priority & therefore make it a habit to nurture our relationship by spending quality time together & reading our scripture together every night as well as saying a couples prayer together.
We also have family prayer together every night & read the scriptures aloud with our oldest son while he repeats back what we read since he loves to do that.
I attend my church meetings every week on Sunday mornings with my family. While once a month, I go & visit a couple of other woman in the church to bring them a spiritual message & see if they are doing well & if I can help them in any way.
My calling in the church right now is working with young girls ages 8-11 yrs. old. Which is called Activity Days, where we meet every other week to learn & develop new talents & skills both spiritual & temporal. I love teaching & serving these girls. They make me smile & laugh & are enjoyable to be around.
The gospel principles that I believe in & know to be true, are at the basis of all of the decisions that I make in my life every single day.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women are strong. Mormon women are sure. We are taught from the time that we are tiny that we are daughters of God. Many people question equality between Mormon men and women because we believe in the traditional roles of the family, the classic stay-at-home mom and the working father. It makes me sad that society has degraded the role of a mother and made it seem undesirable and less than an occupation outside the home.

We believe in eternal families. We believe that this life is the one time in all eternity that we are sent to be tried and tested. If those beliefs be true than there is nothing more noble and exciting than being a mother. To be chosen to bring life into the world and to steer that life to goodness and love is one of the greatest and most impressive things that can be done.

I am proud to be a woman. I am excited to be a mother one day. I am an advocate for education and self-betterment for all. I value the differences of women from men. All of these things I learned to do from my religion. If that's not feminism I don't know what is.

Yes! We firmly believe that men and women are equal in the eyes of God and are given separate, but equally important responsibilities here on Earth. Men are given the power of the Priesthood, which allows them to do things for their families and others such as give blessings or baptize individuals. Women are given the sacred responsibility of bringing children into the world and to support their husbands with their responsibilities. Both parents are encouraged to teach gospel principles to their children together and to live in harmony with the Church.
This is not to say women are not encouraged to pursue educational endeavors or career opportunities. Each family is different, we are encouraged to pray and make decisions based on what is best for our families.
Every Mormon woman is different, but we all have something in common. We are all daughters of our Father in Heaven.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

I have gotten this question a lot and it has been one I have always heard about but never understood it but as I learned more about our Heavenly Fathers plan for us it started to make more sense. This life it’s a time for us to be happy and grow it’s a time for us to get ready for what’s a head in our existence. This life is a time for us to get ready to meet God again and say I did follow you.

I know that this life is a time for joy and the way I know to have true joy is by having a family. I know that sometimes my family can drive me crazy but that is where I have found all my joy is by helping and just living with my family. I am so excited to have a family of my own, and have a home of love and happiness where we can grow closer to each other and to our Heavenly Father.

As we learn about happiness and joy we also learn about pain and misery that is just a part of this life yes it is hard and sometimes you wish it could just go away but as we learn about both we can appreciate the good from that bad. And I really think that is one of the biggest reasons we are down here is to learn.
