Dara: Mormon.

Hi, I'm Dara

I grew up in Seattle. I dance & sing. I go to college. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello! I am 22 years old and going to school right now studying Health Science. I'd like to go onto grad school next year to become an Occupational Therapist. I was married in December 2010 to the man of my dreams & am living a happy life with him. In high school I was on a competitive Ballroom Dance Team and continued to do some ballroom in college until I took a modern dance class; then I really found my niche! I love contemporary dance & can't get enough of it.

Mostly all you need to know about me is that I like to laugh and have fun, I love my family, I love to dance, and I love the LDS church!

Why I am a Mormon

I know that the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. That is why I am a Mormon. Throughout my life I have tested the standards given, the commandments and the doctrine, in my own way, and found it to be true. When I am living the standards of the gospel and in accordance with Heavenly Father's teaching I am happy. When I am not I find that life becomes a little bit more complicated and I lack the clarity of direction when I am seeking carnal or natural man desires.

I know that Heavenly Father is aware of me and that through living the gospel as He as revealed unto us at this time, I can return to Him! What a glorious idea! It is so sweet to think that, as I live righteously, there is always hope. Even though the world is rising in wickedness and reaping in unrighteousness, there is still hope! That is why I am a Mormon.

Personal Stories

What are you doing to help strengthen your family and make it successful?

My husband and I are newly married. We don't have any kids yet, but are always striving to maintain a peace and reverence in our home that strengthens our marriage. One way we do that is by praying together. Before each meal and each night we pray as a couple. Each time we pray at night we ask one another if there are any topics in particular that we need to pray about or ponder. This helps us to stay on the same page about things, because we are talking about the concerns we may have. It really helps us to stay in touch and keep our marriage strong.

How I live my faith

Since I'm in school my callings (volunteer positions) tend to be short term, for a semester or two at most; because that's how long I stay in a ward. My favorite calling in the church was when I taught the women of our ward. I loved preparing lessons and teaching to our individual classes needs.
