I am a father of 3 beautiful girls and a gorgeous wife, and I am student at University of Idaho.

About Me

Hi I would like to share a few things about me. First I grew up on a potato farm in Southern Idaho. I really truly loved working side by side with my Dad and Brothers and my Grandpa Cook. I learned many of my life lessons from that expierience. When I decided to serve an LDS mission At 23 leaving the farm was the hardest thing for me to do. Also getting on a plane to fly to New York not long after 911, while serving in Rochester and Buffallo I gained a great appreciation for the for the church and for its' mortal founder Joseph Smith Jr. I truly feel that Joseph was truly a prophet of the lord and that Jesus Christ is the Ultimate founder of the LDS church. This knowledge drives me to make decisions every day the will affect my life where others may overlook some of these decisions my background helps me to get the most fullfilment out of life and the most Joy. When I returned from my mission I had my heart set on farming but soon found out that our family was going to lose the farm I was devastated and wondered why God would allow for this thing to happen. Little did I know that if not for the loss of the farm I would have never sought out to return to college. It was here that I found my sweet heart and we have been blessed with 2 wonderful daughters with Daughter number three arriving any day now.
Every day I struggle to keep ahead of lifes' twist and turns. I enjoy camping, good movies, and spending time with all my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt the influence of God in my life. When I feel the spirit It Comforts warms and enlightens my soul. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the reason that I get up everyday. I have a deep love of the scriptures and I have a deep gratitude and love for the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I know that the Book of Mormon is an inspired record from God I have felt the witness of the Holy Ghost testify to me that it is true. My testimony did not come speedily but it did come and it is true that faith preceeds the miracle. I also know that Jesus is the Christ and he loves me. This is the greatest reason of all for being a member of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, Because it is built upon apostles and prophets Jesus Christ being the chief cornerstone. It is also built upon the rock of revelation spoken of in mathew. What other church has that as a resume? Most other churches have mortal founders but no rock of revelation and no foundation to recieve it let alone administer in the ordinances needed to return to live with our heavenly father.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be like Jesus and following in his ways. This means by not getting involved with the worldly appetites that are out there, and continually striving to be a better person each and every day.
I am happy to say that people I work with recognize my faith and usually respect me for my standards even if they do not always follow the same pattern.

What is the First Vision?

I take the remarkable account of the First Vision very seriously, and I consider it the great eye opener of our time. The nature of God and Jesus Christ are made known, and also the answer about what church a person should be a part of is made clear. I love Joseph's inquirey of how he should go about worshiping Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I also love the answer that was given to join non of the churches of the day. This answer came because all of the different sects of the day were stagnant and thier creeds were wrong in the Site of God. It was also said that man drew near to God with thier lips but their hearts were far from him. Just think about getting a answer like that clearly I would not have expected that answer had I been in Joseph's position, But then again I digress each and everyone of us can experience the eye opener of the first vision for ourselves and know that what said is true. Yes it may come as shock to some other religions that we declare with boldness the events that happened, but yet it should be considered in line with what God has done in past generations of time. I have a testimony of this moment in time and speak by my own expierience that this did happen and God revealed this unto his prophet Joseph Smith.

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has no political affiliation, and remains neutral on political activity. As declared by the Church, its purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ, not to elect politicians, and this applies to all the nations were the Church is established. In the same way, the Church does not endorse nor promote political parties, and its members are not directed to vote for specific candidates. Elected officials who are also members of the Church, does not represent the Church's position.

However, the Church does encourages us, members of the Church, to play a responsible role as citizens of the nations, to be informed, and to exercise our right to vote. Also, we are expected to respect others who think different and to participate in dialogue and exchange of ideas to reach consensus.

In the Church, we learn since we are young to be responsible and to seek to serve our communities and families. The Church's programs aims to strength our capacity and willingness to serve others. In this same context, we support leaders and programs which purposes are to make a better world. I personally support leaders who inspire those principles, and pray that whoever is elected would make wise decisions for the welfare of our nations and those of others. To obey, honor, and sustain the law of our country is an important responsibility of every member of our church.
