About Me

I like to take every opportunity to travel with my family. I enjoy watching my son run in cross country meets and being involved in school activities. I like to bike ride and go on hikes and being outdoors in the summer. I like to garden and dig in the dirt!

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that Christ is the key to a happy life and that is what HIS church is all about! I know that if we want to be happy we will do what will bring us closer to HIM. I know that through our trials we grow stronger if we invite the Savior to help us through. That is my testimony.

How I live my faith

I am involved in the womens organization in our church. Our mission is to increase faith and strengthen families and homes and those in need.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Mostly because of misunderstanding and lack of knowledge about the Church. It's easier for people to believe what they hear from other people (who heard it from someone else, who heard it from another person that read it on the Internet...) instead of making an effort to find out from the source.

In addition, there are small, secretive groups that are not part of our Church that use a modified form of the name of the Church for their own group, and have practices that are similar to our worship services and practices. These groups may be involved in illegal activities, especially polygamy, and when the media reports on them, they do not make an effort to distinguish between these groups and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

In my opinion the real reason people say the Mormon Church is a cult because they don't understand. saying that it is a cult is an easy way to excuse themselves from learn more about it. Its like saying "sushi is slimy raw dead fish" or "computers are of the devil" its easy not to try / learn about stuff if you pair it with a negative word like "devil" or " slimy raw dead fish"

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

We have a loving Father in Heaven, whose work and glory are to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. He is our Father, and wants each and every one of us to return to him. Some of His children never had the opportunity to receive the blessings of the gospel and be baptized in their lifetime. Because our Father loves all of His children, each will have the opportunity to accept the gospel, even if it is taught to them after this life. We do baptisms in the temple by proxy so that those who did not have the opportunity in this life to be baptized into the church may receive this ordinance if they desire it.
