Hi, I'm Karen

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Arizona and moved to Utah after I got married. My husband and I have 5 children.

About Me

I like to read, sew, craft, scrapbook and cook. I enjoy nature and would love to find more time to run and bike outdoors. My husband works hard so I can stay at home to take care of our five children. When they get a little older I hope to go back to college and finish my degree. I look forward to traveling with my husband after all our kids grow up.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church but I knew the first time I read the Book of Mormon that this church really is true and I wanted to follow the Savior's teachings and become a member of His church. I try my best every day to live as if Christ was with me. I know when I pray to Him that I will receive answers to my prayers or receive the peace and comfort I need to get thru the challenges we all face. I want my family to be together forever.

How I live my faith

I go to church every week even though it's sometimes a challenge with lots of little kids to get ready. I help my community by finding ways to serve. I try to see every one as a child of God. I serve at church by organizing events for the women in our church.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

I have come to know our Father in Heaven through private prayer and service. As I pray and receive answers through impressions and feelings, I am able to assist in His work. At other times, I have been comforted at the times when I needed it most by a very real presence. I feel His love as I serve others and I can feel His love for them.

Just start out with a small prayer to God and just this one act will start you on a path that will bring you into a relationship with Him. Don't be afraid to ask for guidance from the missionaries this is the thing they live for.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Definitely! In fact, it is hard for me to imagine the world without them. We live in difficult times with wars, economic uncertainty, and just issues and questions that are unique to our generation. Prophets are able to speak with God and relay critical guidance to us that help us to always know what God would have us do.

I believe God loved His children enough in the 'old' days to send His prophets to guide and teach them. He is unchanging, and loves us equally and continues to always have His prophets give us instructions that pertain to our generation.
