About Me

I live in Utah and I love it here. We are surrounded by God's beautiful creations. I enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and camping. I'm attending school and considering becoming a C.P.A. I have my MBA and I'm working on my Master is Accountancy. Although I enjoy outdoor activities, I also love to go to the movies and just spend time with friends. I met my wife in 2009. She left on her mission to Argentina in 2009 and we just got married in November 2011 in the St. George, Utah temple.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are members of the church, so I was raised in the Gospel. I attended church regularly until my late teenage years. In my late teenage years I went through some personal struggles and I eventually needed to contemplate and evaluate my life and what I truly wanted. I wanted to know and accept the truth. I believe that everyone has this desire, to understand and live in accordance with truth. This led me to study the scriptures Old Testament, New Testament, Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price. Through studying the scriptures and fervent prayer to my Father in Heaven I came to know for myself, by the power of the Holy Ghost that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only true and living church on the earth. It is literally the church of Jesus Christ. He stands at the head and directs it's course. This testimony came in large measure because of my testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. Since the Book of Mormon is true, Joseph Smith is the Lord's prophet who restored His Gospel upon the earth in this the final dispensation. Every prophet since Joseph Smith has had the mantle fall upon him and has been entrusted with the Presidency of this church. I've studied the lives and teachings of these Prophets and Presidents and the Holy Spirit has born witness to me that they are called of God. I hope you will see that I have put effort into knowing that this is the right church to belong to. I can also testify to you that the principles and ordinances of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, as taught in their fullness in this church, are true. These principles and ordinances prepare us to one day return to live forever as eternal families with our Heavenly Father, with Christ, and with one another.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by following the teachings of the scriptures and following the living Prophet. Prayer is a powerful way to evaluate how we are doing in our daily lives. I try to dedicate and rededicate myself to the Lord's purposes through communing with Him through personal kneeling prayer. I am by no means perfect. I have struggles like everyone else. However, I testify to you that through prayer we can begin to see our own potential. We can become better each day as we honestly evaluate our lives and our relationships with God, with our families, with our fellow man, and with ourselves.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Families can be together forever. Through living the principles and receiving the ordinances of the Gospel and enduring to the end, husbands and wives, with their children can one day return into the presence of God to go no more out, as the scriptures tell us. Our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love us without end. It is their work and their glory to help us all make it back to their presence together, as families. We are all spirit children of the same Heavenly parents, and because of that we are all brothers and sisters. We are here to help one another.

The family is a key component to support us in God's plan for gaining immortality and eternal life. All of God's children (all the inhabitants that lived, are living, and will live on Earth) are inseperably connected to each other, both (physically) by our Earthly families and (spiritually) by our Heavenly Father.

Families help us to understand our divine heritage. In this, life takes on purpose and meaning. Our immortal spirits were created by our Heavenly Father before Earthly existance, and we are directly connected to Him in this way. As a spiritual family, our collective purpose on Earth is to follow the commandments of God that lead us to live in heaven with Him again.

Our spirits need to progress, learn, and grow. In order to achieve that, Earthly existance was created as our test. Our Heavenly Father knew that being exposed to opposing forces on Earth was the only way for us to gain knowledge and wisdom.

However, we will not always choose righteousness, and so our Savior, Jesus Christ, is that great mediator to pay the debt of our mistakes. He is the only way by which we can be saved from our sins and transgressions. He is the ultimate example by which direction we need to live our lives. With the support of our earthly kin, we can learn from each other, serve each other, and strengthen our mortal weaknesses by being disciples of Christ. Our families are a gift from God, and we can be together forever.

How are modesty and chastity related? How can parents teach their children to be modest in dress, language and behavior?

Chastity is reserving physical intimacy for after marriage. This sexual intimacy is such a beautiful and powerful display of love that it is to be reserved for that special time. When we do this we are showing the respect and love we have for ourselves and our bodies, as the gift from God that they are. Through our dress, language and behavior we also show our self worth and respect for who we are. The neat thing about being modest is the strong self confidence that is exhibited by your outward appearance. There is a power that comes from knowing that we are children of a loving Heavenly Father. As parents teach their children that simple truth, that self confidence will develop and as the desire to be modest in dress, language and behavior will come naturally. I know that this was the case in my life and am super grateful for the teachings of my parents and the high self confidence it cultivated in knowing of my individual worth as a daughter of God.
