About Me

Well a few things about myself, I am a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I'm a musican, I play guitar, bass guitar and somtimes a singer. I enjoy listening to music (heavy metal, punk, and other types of music) , drawing, reading books of all types, like to start mosh pits as well and watching movies. I am currently serving a mission in the Ohio Cleveland Mission. But before I left to serve my mission, I was attending college studying admistration justice and playing in a heavy metal band.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because as I have made the choice to believe in and practice the faith of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have gained a testimony of the gospel taught in the church and that this is the true church, the very same church Christ established here on earth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example to those around me, I can only hope that my example has an effect on others as so many others have had an effect on me.

Who is the Mormon prophet today?

The prophet of the world today is, President Thomas S. Monson. President Monson is called of God to be His mouth-piece and an instrument in His work

God through out the ages has spoken to His children through living prophets. We have a prophet today, named Thomas S. Monson. He is a prophet just like Moses, Abraham or Peter. My wife and I, were blessed to be personally called by President Monson to serve a mission. For 2 hours we sat in his office as he taught us. We felt his spirit and his love. I know that he is a prophet. This is the Savior’s church and He leads this church just as he did anciently through a living prophet. As we follow President Monson’s teaching and example we will be blessed to draw nearer to the Savior.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

Mostly because of misunderstanding and lack of knowledge about the Church. It's easier for people to believe what they hear from other people (who heard it from someone else, who heard it from another person that read it on the Internet...) instead of making an effort to find out from the source.

In addition, there are small, secretive groups that are not part of our Church that use a modified form of the name of the Church for their own group, and have practices that are similar to our worship services and practices. These groups may be involved in illegal activities, especially polygamy, and when the media reports on them, they do not make an effort to distinguish between these groups and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
