About Me

I am a parent of four children and spouse to a wonder wife. I work as an emergency communicator for the state police and am a fire fighter for my local community. I enjoy being with my family and my hobbies are auto racing and family history.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up being a Baptist with my parents. I joined the church because I believe that Heavenly Father would not just want us to rely on old scriptures and old beliefs but that revelation can be received in this modern day. We use the King James version of the bible which I grew up using with modern revelation and additional witness’s the scriptures.

Why do Mormons do family history or genealogy work?

First of all, I am a convert to the Church. If have been doing family research since I have joined and have really learned about my family. No one in my family has ever traced the family back before. I have had the opportunity to go though my grandmother’s photographs. In these thousand of photos and memorabilia I have found very old pictures from the eighteen hundreds of family members never seen before. I have learned so much about my heritage. I became a firefighter in 2005 or about not knowing that my grandfather that I knew was also a firefighter. To learn of your heritage and provide answers to your children on who they are and where their family came from is awesome.
But that isn’t the only reason I research my family. I wish to be reunited with my family members after I pass. I wish that they be introduced to the gospel and be given the choice to decide if the gospel is true. We provide the necessary ordinances such as baptism so that those who were not baptized on earth can receive those blessings.
I enjoy helping members of the Church lean how to do this special family work. I also spend time helping people of the community to research their families. In today’s world there are many resources available.

How I live my faith

I hold many callings in the Church that allow me to teach and share my testimony to many people. I try to live the Church’s teaching and be an example to others. I am not perfect but I try to live according to the standards of the Church. Heavenly Father does not expect us to be perfect. He expects us to try to be better. Do what is right for our body, mind and spirit. I have the same struggles as any other family or individual does in life. I just try to follow what is right and use the resources that the Church provides to prevent future struggles.

What are some of the ways that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helps those around the world?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints provides humanitarian service in many different ways. For instance, members living in Salt Lake City give of their time to assemble hygiene kits and relief kits to help those who have been the recent victims of natural disasters. These kits, along with food, first aid, and other necessities are rushed to the scenes of disaster all over the world. The Church works with communities that do not have sources of clean water to help them establish disease-free water sources, as well as teaching them principles of hygiene and maintenance that will keep their water clean. The Church has organized a training program to teach neonatal resuscitation to medical professionals all over the world, thus helping to prevent many unnecessary newborn deaths. The Church provides training, equipment, and supplies to eye care professionals and clinics in many poorer countries to help them prevent unnecessary blindness. The Church has an immunization program that helps to get much needed vaccines to children worldwide who might otherwise die of preventable diseases. There is another program run by The Church that helps to teach those in third world countries how to grow and preserve the food they need to be able to feed their families. Because we in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints believe that all people are brothers and sisters, we seek to help those in need regardless of their location, ethnicity, and/or religious beliefs.

Check out ldsphilanthropies.org for some of the official ways that Mormons help. Our help is directed to anyone in need, regardless of religious affiliation.

We believe in being 'anxiously engaged' in a good cause. I have enjoyed serving the people of Guatamala and Peru on serveral occasions, to help train dentists, provide dental work to people who have no access to it, and to deliver much needed humanitarian supplies to orphanages and churches. I have felt joy in serving my brothers and sisters in other lands. I hope to get a better handle on the Spanish language, and return again soon to Central or South America.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

When married by earthly power and the authority of man, our vows are "Until death do you part."

We believe that families can be together forever as part of our Heavenly Father's Great Plan of Happiness. His Work and His Glory is to bring to pass the exaltation and eternal life of man. He wants us to be even as He is and to return home to live with Him again.

Through the ordinances of his Holy Temples, God's son's and daughter's are able to make covenants. Through the power of His Holy Priesthood, be sealed together for all of time and eternity as Husband and Wife, parents and children.

Families were designed and instituted by God with the intent that they be forever. The love we feel in this life does not need to be cut off when we die. Those who have already died are not lost us forever. God has mercifully made a way by which all who would accept these saving ordinances can do so, living or dead.

We perform these ordinances for those who have in the past died so that they may have the opportunity of accepting them on the other side if they so choose to do so.
